Clean car seats in just 15 MINUTES – using two common bathroom items!

Did you know that there is a ‘room’ where many people spend several hours of their days in, but is often the most neglected when it comes to cleaning? Can you guess what ‘room’ it is?

Yup, you’re right – the interiors of our car.

Even if your car has been sitting unused more than usual over the past several months, that hasn’t stopped dust and dirt from accumulating inside and on the seats.

We understand that many of us here lead extremely busy lives and tasks like cleaning the car are often left on the back burner for far too long.

And while there are some people who make a significant effort to keep the interior of their car clean, there are also others who are overwhelmed by their daily activities and simply don’t have the time. We get it, we tend to be like that, too!

But keeping the interior of our cars clean will not only help its resale value, but it can also keep dirt and bacteria from building up. Not to mention, you must prevent bad odours from developing too!

That’s why it’s all the more important that our cars are not only washed on the outside but thoroughly cleaned on the inside too.

When it comes to car maintenance, safety is always the highest priority.

Experts recommend cleaning your car interior at least once a month. A telling sign is whenever grime starts to impede your ability to see oncoming vehicles, then that’s when you would know it’s time to clean your windows.

You must also learn to habitually remove rubbish and debris from the driver's floorboard and dashboard as they may interfere with the vehicle's controls.

A thorough cleaning of the car's interior twice a year should suffice, but if you want to keep it in tiptop condition, you must opt for much more than that.

However, since most people don’t have the time nor the energy to do a full clean of their car interior every time, there’s this trick that recently went viral for cleaning car seats in no time.

The hack was shared by Joanne Dunston on Facebook and it makes use of only two common bathroom items – an old toothbrush and shaving foam!

Simply take a bottle of shaving foam (Gillette is used here, for example) and spray it directly onto the car seats. Then with your hands, spread and massage the foam all over your dirty car seats, making sure every spot is covered.

Then, using an old toothbrush, gently scrub the fabric of the car seat. Leave the foam for around 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water after. With a clean microfibre cloth, simply wipe and remove the foam to reveal the cleaned seats.

The cleaning hack went viral on Facebook, with lots of users commenting that they never knew car cleaning could be this easy and cheap.

“Very impressive!” wrote one. “Incredible! I’m trying this, thank you,” added another.

This sounds like a plan! My bearded chap does not use shaving cream, of course, so I'll have to add this to the shopping list.

How come one seat is grey and the other blue?? Was it really the same seat cleaned???
I've found Preen on any stains and a hot soapy water that you constantly rinse the cleaning cloth in also works well to clean interior, along with 'elbow grease' of course....👍
