Christmas Gift Wrapping Ideas

I am a huge fan of Christmas and I enjoy making people feel special during the holiday too. Every year, I go out of my way to ensure that each gift I'm planning to give is personalised, wrapped neatly, and contains handwritten cards to remind my loved ones how much they mean to me. Can you relate? If so, I'd love to see the best tips you've got up your sleeve on gift wrapping!

I used to love Christmas for the right reason Jesus, not Santa, Christmas in the last 25 years has just become a money grab for "department" stores and kids toys.

Sethia, I realise your target group are rich cashed up seniors who have worked hard all their lives, made the correct career choices etc to be able to afford RV's and live in McMansions/retirement villages and can afford your targeted ads for insurance and retirement lifestyle.

Do some research instead of regurgitating days old FB and social media "news" and look into how many seniors are actually pensioners living on the poverty line and renting for whatever reason cannot afford all the 30 and 40 dollar plus, tops, dresses pots, pans, air fryers you keep offering.
I can't afford jack, I live on scraps (theoretically) because things like roasts, real vegies are just out of reach.

Do a poll Mate,
ask how many of the audience are pensioners who rent and have jack all and like me cannot afford Christmas, have no family within thousands of miles (who don't care anyways) and will be eating alone at home on a ham sandwich as there are no free lunches in many rural communities.
So change focus a bit and target the poor
Shanny

All the afults iny family give whatever amount we would spent on gifts to each other to a charity of our choice
Still buy gifts for the children but organise a treasure hunt by leaving clues around the house and garden

I am with ShannyN. When you live by yourself in rural communities and on a pension trying to make ends meet with rent, utilities bills and food, who has enough left over to buy presents. Like ShannyN, I have no family within hundreds of miles and will be spending the day watching tv and eating a toasted cheese sandwich. Merry Christmas ShannyN - I'll be thinking of you.

I've always thought Christmas is mainly for Children.
For years I celebrated by getting, myself something I needed. Now I buy for grandchildren.
I make a plum pudding and trifle for desert.
I don't spend a lot.
For presents I stick many pieces of sticky tape to the edge of the table and then start wrapping.
One hand holds the paper in place and the other grabs a piece of tape. I'm not big on cards as they end up in the bin, and the gift speaks for itself.

We do the same each year we will select presents for each of our loved ones wrap them carefully and place a hand written card on them so that shows we care for them.
As for lights I have so many now it is hard to get the wife to agree that I can put them up however, we do have a Christmas tree that lights up each year.

I am an age pensioner, I get a full pensioun and after putting a few bucks aside each pay I get to be able to look for specials. One very good special I found was in coles. I no longer smoke, drink in clubs and pubs, play pokie machines
All of this was forced upon me by rising prices and no rise in the pension. Recently we did get a pay rise and because I had not included that in my budget as I don''t budget something I don''t have or an aticipate a suggested rise ...I found the few extra dollars helped to get a few cheap items in the Coles "Cheap as crap"" shelves. Turkish delight 250g $6.00 or the small one for $3.00 FOR THE KIDS.
To Answer the question of the first post ... It all hinges on the ages for the recipriants ... Like kids, teens or older ...Then age friends ...
My Policy for years now (not because I am stingy but beacause I am mostly stint) is meet up and enjoy a nice picnic or lunch at the RSL .. they generally put on a great christmas for OLDER PENSIONERS.
You just have to tell them that you are a group of pensioners. Vinnies will sometimes arrange something for homeless Christmas time.
Even if I don't get a feed it is good to meet people and have a great chat and a coffee etc
A number of years ago, I would go to a picnec area with some food and sausages, Onions and Bread and Butter and put us a sign PENSIONS WELCOME TO JOIN IN.
Well, we made friends and each year many of them come and say will we have another picnic this year?
Well, you know the answer to that one... LOL

I agree with you completely. Unfortunately, the commercialism of the season has taken some of that pleasure away. I love giving and actually getting it right. Not that easy with teenagers as their tastes can be quite difficult to fit. But I try and I will continue to. Have a wonderful festive season and enjoy all it brings to us. We dont realise it most of the time but we are indeed a lucky country.
