Chocolate Crunch Bar

I thought I would try something different than the Mars bar slice I make and this was a huge hit.

Recipe from The Big Man's World

Servings: makes 16 to 20 bars
Prep time:5 minutes
Cook time :1 minute

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 cups rice Bubbles ( I used the homebrand ones)
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter ( again homebrand one)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
METHOD
1.Line an 8 x 8-inch baking dish with baking paper and set aside

2.Add Rice bubbles into a large mixing bowl and set aside. In a microwave safe bowl or stovetop, combine all your other ingredients and heat until melted. Remove from microwave/off stove and whisk until completely incorporated.

3. Pour the chocolate/peanut butter mixture over the rice bubbles and mix until combined. Pour into the lined baking dish and refrigerate until firm (at least an hour).
  • Remove and cut into bars 16 or 20

NOTES

Crunch bars can be stored at room temperature, in a sealable container. They will keep fresh for up to 2 weeks.

TO FREEZE: Wrap individual bars in baking paper or grease proof paper and place them in ziplock bags. They will freeze well for up to 6 months.

Hi Suzanne,
Just a quick note, I notice mabe a mistake or 2.
Under the headings,
METHOD.
Remove and cut into bars 16 > 20 = WRONG
If you cut them up other people will also eat them.
NOTES.
In a sealable container they will keep fresh for 2 weeks = WRONG
In my house they won't last 2 MINUTES
VERDICT.
Absolutely brilliant and "She who must be obeyed" is making

I have many more slices and choc bar eecipe I will add.
There is one I also make which taste exactly like cherry ripe.

I made two large banana breads today. They demolished one and my son who is working 5 hours away took the other one!!
So much for me having a piece with my coffee tonight
