Childhood Memories​

I distinctly remember my mother telling me,
"I do not have a favourite child."
I found this extremely hard to take as a kid,
mainly because I was an only child.

I grew up in the suburb of Paddington NSW. My parents liked to gamble on the horses every Saturday. So my job was to pick up all the tickets at the end of the day and see if anyone had thrown out a winning ticket. Sometimes they did. At kindergarten I was good at maths only because I knew the odds of the horses.
