Cheese choice

I do like cheeses and living on my own I used to buy small blocks, But keeping in a container in the fridge the outside could still dry out or even turn mouldy.
So I went to slices which were handy as a slice or 2 would fit neatly on a bit of toast to then melt in the microwave with onion and then toamato and even tinned tuna. Yumm.|I would also sometimes eat a slice with some relish or chutney on it after letting it come to room temp.
Now before we go to the next atep, a lot of taste is all to do with texture, so try this test: |
a piece of cheese straight fro the fridge
another piece at room temp.
repeat with grated cheese.
either or melted, just by itself
Did you find any difference in to how it all tasted/
I certainly did. - I prefer fine chopped coleslaw over coarse and will always chop it up fine.
Which brings me back to cheese.
I now only by grated cheese, whether Colby, Mozzarella, or a mixture.
I love ti eat it straight form the bag too.
And a final hint for melted cheeses on toast using grated cheese. some will quite probably run off the toast and on to the plate, but as soon as removed form the microwave or grill,. put that back on and then add some fresh grated cheese. The hear will partially melt the new stuff.
