Cheap Hamptons style decorating hack: Renter-friendly!
Many of us dream of magazine-worthy homes, but it’s not always possible. Whether we’re renting, unable to decide on a design, or unable to spend money on non-essentials right now, seeing beautiful homes can feel disheartening.
Thankfully, the internet is filled with home hacks that don’t require much commitment while also fitting many people’s budgets.
One mum from Wollongong shares her rental-friendly home styling tips on Instagram.
Tiffany shares snippets of her rental home to over 9,000 followers through her Instagram account.
Among the most requested DIYs is hanging sheers or curtains without needing to drill holes in the wall.
Recently, Tiffany recorded a quick video where she is seen using an expanding curtain rod and broom grippers to put up sheer curtains.
Standing on a chair, the home stylist attached the grippers to the window frame. These were then used as support for the rod, with the white curtains already hanging on it.
The mum-of-two claims to have only spent $55 for everything. In her caption, she points followers to Bunnings for the extendable rod, which she bought for $18.
Meanwhile, the sheer curtains and the broom grippers were purchased from Kmart.

'It's a great little hack for us renters when we have to compromise with everything styling-wise,' Tiffany said.
Her followers, mostly fellow renters, were impressed with the damage-free trick for installing curtains.
'Wish we knew this for our previous rental! Amazing,' one person said.
Another commenter praised Tiffany's tip: 'Such a great hack, they look so luxe!'
Others promised to try the trick: 'Totally love this and would do this when we move out of our current rental with sheers.'
Installing curtains is a great way to make a room appear cosier or bigger.
If you prefer the latter, most interior decorators recommend mounting the curtain rod closer to the ceiling than the window frame. Long curtains can also give the illusion of high ceilings.
The curtain’s design also plays a part. While sheers in one colour, particularly white, are always classy, vertical stripes and similar prints can draw the eye from the floor to the ceiling.
Another useful tip is to have your rod wider than the window frame. This way, you can draw back the curtains farther from the window, seeing more of the view outside and letting more light pour into the room.
