ALDI has put together three different menu options, all of which come in at $9 per person.

Kylie Warnke from ALDI told a news source that the first menu is perfect for feeding a large group of people. 'This will feed all of your friends and family at Christmas,' she said. 'We're really proud of the range that Black and Gold has become.'

Menu one:
  1. The crowd-pleaser Scallops wrapped in maple-flavoured bacon – $12.99 for a six-pack
  2. Australian leg ham – $8.49 per kg
  3. Honey-glazed parsnips – $2.99
  4. Salad – price varies
  5. Classic mini chocolate pudding - 2pk $3.29
  6. Something extra (not included in the budget): Lobster tails – $34.99 for a two-pack

For meat lovers, ALDI has put together a second menu featuring a Turducken - a turkey, duck and chicken all rolled into one - as well as turkey balls and a cauliflower bake.

Menu two:
  1. Meat-lover's dream Turducken – $29.99
  2. Turkey Kyiv balls – $5.99 for an eight-pack
  3. Cauliflower bake – $6.49
  4. Turkey wrapped in bacon – $24.99
  5. Something extra (not included in the budget): Award-winning South Point Pino Grigio – $4.99

And for those who prefer seafood (or follow a pescatarian diet), there's a third menu with salmon puffs, salmon wellington and duck fat potatoes (though that’s not quite pescatarian, is it…).

Menu three:
  1. Seafood special Salmon puffs – $4.99 for an eight-pack
  2. Salmon Wellington – $12.99
  3. Duck fat potatoes – $3.99
  4. Something extra (not included in the budget): Frozen Australian tiger prawns – $24.99 per kg

IGA is also getting in on the festive spirit with its range of Black and Gold Christmas delights that are sure to please everyone at the table. According to Estella from IGA, their Christmas feast comes in at under $100 and will cost under $10 per person.

One of the things on their menu is a cream cheese-based butter board that costs $4.80 and can be customised with dried fruit, honey, and crackers – it's up to you!

An entree option is a packet of prawn cutlets, which costs $7.50.

Estella also mentioned that the ham from IGA costs $8.50 per kilo, making it a reasonable and budget-friendly option if you're looking for the main course. 'This ham has been perfected over decades, and it's won a number of accolades over the years,' she said.

If you're searching for quick and easy recipes to offer at Christmas lunch, look in the freezer section for corn on the cob and green peas. Never fear running out of options because IGA has everything from cheap potatoes and fresh salad to absolutely superb dessert treats.

'The famous Aussie pav (is) $5.40 this year,' Estelle added, also mentioning IGA's Black and Gold three-ingredient cheesecake, which is another best-selling holiday treat – available for $7.16!

Merry Christmas, everyone, and we hope you enjoy the holidays!

Its not really my time of year anymore, all the junk food + all the good food and its all way overpriced.... to hell n gone..... Like Ham.... not the over processed glued together stuff from the Deli, (pigs legs are not round) I prefer a pickled pork leg... although some are mad with way to much salt, yes salt is needed to make the brine.... and most people boil it only.... well I boil it halfway to try and remove as much salt as possible then I roast it...... I like it better than ham....any day. this year I might just make my own, if you have a good smoke house at home why not try doing your own bacon and ham, you can just giggle the recopies..... Merry Kiss My.....
