Chalkboard duster

Who here remembers being assigned the special duty of cleaning the chalkboard dusters? It was a privilege for many kids back in the day, giving you a chance to step out of the classroom briefly and enjoy the fresh air while shaking off the chalky remnants. Sometimes, you'd witness it flying through the air, aimed at a naughty student. Do you have fond memories of chalkboard dusters?

I have several homemade black boards at home. They are used to jot down jobs need doing, home shopping list (as things start to run low), quick note to family members, and fun for the grandkids. And boy do the grandkids love bashing the duster. I did have whiteboards but if the cap wasn't put on tight enough, they always dried out and replacing. And if left on the board too long it can't be simply wipe off (you need a cleaning agent) and a good chance it's stains the board. Whereas chalk is great and costs very little and come off so easy no matter how long it been on the board (duster/tissue/paper towel or a wet water rag).

Not so good memories, my teacher threw the duster at the boy behind me as he was talking, but unfortunately the duster did not reach him, but hit me on the forehead which required ten stitches and hospitalisation and a permanent scar on my forehead.

If that happened today... you'd be rich!!!!

We had a science teacher at school who used the chalk-board duster to throw it at the student who gave the wrong answer which she considered was stupid. If the chalk-board duster wasn't handy she used the box containing chalks.
