Caught on camera: Woolworths truck hits parked car

Picture this: a Woolworths truck playing bumper cars with a parked Mazda. Yes, you read that right!

So, here's the scoop: outside the Woolworths Laurimar store, a truckie's day took a wild turn. Manoeuvering through a maze of parked cars, their truck decided to cosy up to a blue Mazda 2, and let's just say, it wasn't a gentle nudge. This wasn't your ordinary fender-bender—it was a full-blown collision.

The person behind the wheel of the vehicle behind the truck witnessed the entire ordeal. She was in shock and disbelief as she honked her horn in an attempt to get the attention of the truck driver. It was a moment of sheer disbelief for everyone involved.

The aftermath left the Mazda 2 with large dents and a smashed window. Understandably, the owner, whose mum owned the car, was quite upset. The dashcam footage, shared online in February, became crucial evidence.

‘I was just so happy this woman was behind as (the truck driver) kept denying it,’ she claimed. ‘Thank God for the woman with the dashcam proving otherwise!’ according to the owner

In response to the incident, Woolworths confirmed that they are conducting an investigation. They're working closely with their carrier partner to gather more information. It's a concerning situation, and they're committed to resolving it promptly.

Key Takeaways

  • Dashcam footage caught a Woolworths truck hitting a parked Mazda in Melbourne last February.
  • The driver of the parked Mazda was distressed by the incident.
  • The Mazda driver expressed gratitude to the owner of the footage, claiming that the driver of the Woolworths truck denied wrongdoing.
  • Woolworths is investigating the incident.
In the meantime, let's all keep our eyes peeled on the road. After all, it’s better to be safe than to be sorry!

Just as many careless people & ‘nutters’ on our roads and out & about as there are on foot assaulting people & breaking into homes these days. We are fast becoming a country that is following so many other countries. Part of this attitude must lay squarely at social media, and easily visible on line access to what is happening around the world. With that access many are finding a serious/dangerous way to vent their anger without regard for anyone and anything. Break-ins, assaults, stealing vehicles etc. it goes on & on every single day. There is hardly any good news these days.

What are governments & judicial systems doing - letting the juveniles off with a slap on the wrist? Proper parental control and education at kindergarten/primary/junior school level might help somewhat but it seems that has now been forgotten and it might be far too late. It’s all about “oh, we cannot smack our kids, we cannot punish them in any way” and excuses that just go on and on by parents & so-called heirachy. Get over it people & do your duty - parents & authorities alike.
