Cashrewards to offer 'free money' on select petrol stations and establishments this weekend

Every penny counts, and savvy shoppers look out for ways to save money.

The cost of living can be a tough nut to crack, with expenses like petrol often taking a big slice of the budget pie.

A promo happening this weekend could see you pocketing what feels like 'free money'.

This Sunday, 11 August, shoppers could save over 20 cents per litre on their next tank of fuel, and it is not limited to just one chain of petrol stations.

Cashback offers in the past were typically associated with fashion, beauty, and homewares.

However, Cashrewards just expanded its horizons to include multiple petrol retailers.

Starting this weekend, Cashrewards will offer gift cards to be accepted at any service station that takes prepaid Visa gift cards.

While the standard cashback on new fuel & auto gift cards is 2 per cent, there's an extra treat in store for motorists this Sunday.

Cashrewards is offering a $5 bonus cashback on purchases above $50 from this new range.

If shoppers buy a $50 gift card, they will also receive $5 back.

If drivers fill up their tank with $50 worth of fuel—assuming the fuel costs around $2 per litre—they will effectively save about 20 cents per litre.

Shoppers can combine this saving with any other fuel discount available, potentially saving over 30 cents per litre.

This discount is not limited to petrol, as this can also be used for service station snacks, car washes, and more.

The gift cards are also valid for a range of automotive-related expenses, including motorcycle shops, automotive parts and accessories, tyre stores, body repair and service shops.

Similar deals are available this Sunday for other categories such as Liquor, Pet & Vet items, and DIY stores.

This means that shoppers can shop stress-free at Dan Murphys and Bunnings!

Cashrewards Ambassador Joel Gibson shared his excitement about this cashback strategy.

'I'm passionate about showing people how to maximise their returns by shopping for discounts and earning cash back at the same time—which creates what I call a "cash back stack,"' he shared.

This latest cashback opportunity is a game-changer for savvy shoppers.

For those who already use fuel price apps and various fuel discount schemes, this is another money-saving move.
