Can you spot the bizarre detail in this Woolworths store? Baffled shopper makes the rounds on social media after pointing out the 'unusual' structure

It's no secret that many of us spend a lot of time at our local supermarkets. After all, they are a convenient place to stock up on groceries and household items.

We even become so familiar with our local stores that we often keep ourselves updated on the best deals. Sometimes, we even try the unique offerings that these retailers have to offer.

Whether it's trying a new recipe that we saw on the shelves or taking advantage of a special sale, supermarkets can be a great place to explore and save money.

But how much do we actually know about what happens behind the scenes in the grocery industry?

Some recent revelations have been somewhat bizarre, making us wonder what else we need to know about these stores that provide us with our daily necessities.

Just take a look at this one Woolworths customer who has been left scratching his head over a bizarre detail at his local store.

Sharing the photo of the 'unusual' structure on Facebook, the shopper questioned whether the 'giant' double doors, which are situated around three metres above the ground level, were made for ‘really tall customers.’

'Dear Woolworths, this was taken at Woolworths Redland Bay,' he wrote in his post.

'May I ask why there is a door to nowhere about 10ft off the ground?'

'Is this the giants entrance?'

While the arrangement of the twin doors appears to be unusual, there is a very simple reason for this structure.

The doors are used to lift heavy equipment, such as refrigeration units, and place them into their respective rooms.

They also eliminate the need for Woolworths employees to manually transfer large items through the facility.

It should be noted that the inside of the doors are heavily barricaded so unauthorised people cannot access them.

The logistics of getting commodities to customers is a tedious process that involves numerous steps, from the acquisition of the goods to proper storage.

In order to ensure that the products we purchase are safe, supermarkets have to adhere to a strict set of guidelines.

While we may not know everything about our local supermarket stores, one thing is for sure: the staff members do seem to do their best to make sure that the products available for purchase are of the best quality!

So, next time you see a 'bizarre' structure at your local store, feel free to ask staff members about it. They will gladly give you a sound response and explain how these things could help ensure the quality of the products.

Does your local store have something unique in them? Perhaps a limited-edition item or a one-of-a-kind structure? Share them with us in the comments below!
