Can this Coles ‘miracle paste’ keep your shower sparkling clean?

Getting your shower sparkling clean is usually a tiresome chore with lots of scrubbing, cleaning, and elbow grease.

What if there was a way to finish the job without all the headaches?

One mum has recently discovered just that—and it's creating waves of excitement online. But is it worth the hype?

After failing to remove the soap scum and limescale buildup on her shower walls for weeks, Queenslander Toni decided to take matters into her own hands.

Posting online about her experience, Toni resorted to using Coles’ The Pink Stuff and a Scrub Daddy to get her shower sparkling clean in the blink of an eye.

'I previously tried everything suggested on my shower screen with zero success,' she shared with the before and after photos of the screen.

'Today, I tried the Pink Stuff with a Scrub Daddy. Wow! I'm in complete shock. I thought it must have been glass cancer, but apparently not.’

‘I can't stop looking at it. It's a miracle paste.'

The Pink Stuff, which is mildly abrasive, is typically used on everything from saucepans, ceramic tiles, glass, rust, and sinks.

It has gained a sizeable following online, being featured now and then in various cleaning videos and feats not unlike that of Toni’s.

On Amazon, more than half of almost 200,000 reviews rate it a five-star product.

While this product worked wonders for Toni, this doesn't mean you want to go overboard with using it. Make sure to test the product first on more delicate surfaces.

Other users commented on Toni’s post and offered similar advice.

‘Just be careful,’ one warned. ‘We owned a glass company, and abrasive products will put fine scratches in the glass, and the cream cleanser will sit in those scratches and won't be able to be removed.’

Another added, ‘You should be able to maintain this by a non-scratch scourer and dishwashing liquid, but try not to use any abrasive cleaners often.’

Other users shared their different tips and tricks for cleaning their showers.

'I only use dishwashing liquid because it's designed to cut through grease, which is what most shower scum is,' one user said.

‘I just did my shower screens with half vinegar and half dishwashing detergent. Scrubbed with the green side of a sponge and rinsed. Mind blown, it worked,’ a third wrote.

Another commented, ‘I cleaned our shower with The Pink Stuff yesterday. I didn't have a spare scourer so I used one of those exfoliating gloves and I cannot believe I didn't think of it sooner! It made it so easy and came up beautifully.’

Another woman shared her excitement online about the miracles The Pink Stuff had done in cleaning her shower screen.

Her key steps in using this product were using it with a soft dry cloth, cleaning in circular motions, and subsequently using a wet cloth to remove any residue. Read more about the story here.
