Mum-of-four Krystal Howard has revealed that on Saturday and Tuesday nights, she and her husband prepare the family’s meal for the next three days.
She gets off work at 8 pm so her husband does all the cooking, but she is the one responsible for the shopping; they also do the meal planning together.
“I usually prep three or four meals for three days but sometimes I have extra,” she said.
The meals are packed into food containers so that wet and dry products are separated, making them last longer. Krystal said she uses 'some kind of Tetris magic' to stack them all into the fridge.
For their Howard family’s breakfast, they choose oats, berries and almonds.
The rest of the food included a meal of ‘cowboy caviar’, flour tortillas and chicken and lime drumsticks. There is also a ground bison egg roll bowl, boiled egg and broccoli.
And their dinners usually consist of pork tenderloin, shrimp, naan bread, romaine lettuce and chicken pesto salad.
Krystal posted her latest meal ideas on a Facebook group for foodies, where her efforts were definitely noticed.

Krystal shared photos of her perfectly portioned meals in the Facebook group, with the caption saying: “So I'm trying to get my family of four to eat healthier.”
“My parents wanted to join my efforts so I meal prepped ‘grab and go’ meals for them too.”
In this post, she claims her breakfast options included a grapefruit, almonds, and grapes, or a DIY 'banana boat' with keto granola, vanilla yogurt and blueberries.
She provided fancier options for lunch with salmon, roasted potatoes, and broccoli with parmesan sprinkled on top.
On other days, the Howard family could indulge in sausage, butternut squash, bacon and brussels sprouts, with a lean bison taco salad.
“I added some leftover rotisserie chicken for my husband because he doesn't eat fish,” said Krystal, adding a different meal option for her husband.
Many parents congratulated Krystal on her meal ideas, calling her dishes ‘amazing’ and ‘envy-inducing’.
“I am not sure how I stumbled across this greatness but I love it,” said one fellow mum, while another added: “Mouthwatering, honestly those are some lucky family members!”
One group member even admitted she would be stalking Krystal's Facebook for meal ideas in the future.
On Saturdays, the Howard family have a ‘free’ dinner night where they order takeaway and eat anything ‘off the menu’.
