Bunnings shopper's ‘rude’ act in car park prompts an angry response from other motorists

We know that parking can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes, especially if you're in a rush.

But there are some things you just shouldn't do – like this driver, whose 's***ty' act in a Bunnings car park had people fuming.

We can all agree on one thing: good parking etiquette is a must. After all, nobody likes it when they pull into a car park only to find that some inconsiderate driver has taken up two or more spots with their car or van.

But recently, an image was shared on social media of a van that was parked across four car spaces in a Bunnings warehouse parking lot.

A motorist passing by shared the photo on the popular site Reddit with the caption: ‘We doing sh***y parking? This guy used up 4 spots at Bunnings yesterday.’

Many were quick to share their reactions in the comments section – most of them were angry.

‘One spot for each wheel,’ observed one Reddit user.

Meanwhile, the top comment read: ‘At least you have a convenient source of zip ties close at hand so you can attach some trolleys to the wheels/bumper/door handles.’

‘I keep saying: get zip ties and strap some trolleys to the handles and mirrors,’ agreed another.

Someone else commented: ‘Goodness – don’t want to get door dings on that fine vehicle.’

‘Someone park sideways in front and behind him, should fit,’ said another user, poking fun at the photo instead.

But some defended the driver’s actions, saying that he might’ve had a good reason to park this way. Others replied that the driver must have needed enough space to load stuff, and didn’t want to risk scratches on his or other people’s cars while doing so.

‘Quite possible he is hauling something large onto the roof racks, seems pretty considerate if that is the case – and he has minimised risk to other cars,’ shared one.

‘Also, who cares. People are so upset about how people park in places with an abundance of parking,’ a separate user added.

But others fired back at this theory: ‘That’s why there is a trade entrance,’ wrote one.

‘Four spots though? Also, any Bunnings I’ve been to has a trade dock/entry for that sort of stuff,’ a second user said.

A third commented: ‘If it's a flashy car that costs a lot of money it's outrageous. If it's a regular old van/affordable car, it's all good, they must have a valid reason.’ Referring to a previous post where a higher-end car took up two spots in a parking lot and was met with harsh criticism.

It is annoying but every Bunnings store that I have been in has no shortage of parking. Move on.

there is NO good reason to park like that, This driver is just a very arrogant prick who needs to be taught a lesson..... A match in each tyre valve would be a good beginning, but better still the calling of a tow truck with removal of the vehicle would be the Ultimate penalty.

I recently had to park across the line, therefore being partially in the next bay, due to the person in the bay next to mine having been parked too far across.
This was at a hospital where I had already spent 20 minutes driving in circles trying to find a parking spot.
Later, when I had come back out I was abused by several people about my lousy parking, so it is not always that particular driver that is at fault.
No excuse for the Bunnings incident though.

One thing I have noticed over the years is that cars and SUV are getting bigger/larger and the car spaces stay the same size, maybe the car spaces need to be enlarged to meet todays vehicles.

I think its a statement. Build car parks for all cars not just mini's. Not shitty, angry.

Have they removed the parking element of the driving test these days? With the number of cars parked incorrectly and the number of people I see taking 4, 5 or 6 goes to get their vehicle in right I would suspect so. :(

Should have larger Parking bays AWAY from ready access and penalized if not using them but who does the penalizing?
