Breaking news: Thousands of people have been hit by this virus! Are you at risk?

Have you noticed that people are getting sick more often lately?

As a member of the SDC, your health and safety are our top priority. We feel compelled to bring to your attention a potentially deadly virus spreading in one state.

A new report reveals that an increasing number of NSW residents are showing symptoms of the Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV).

‘The virus you’ve never heard of but a virus that all of us have almost certainly had,’ shared Dr Nick Coatsworth on the 2GB radio station.

‘It’s one of the common cold viruses that circulate every single year and NSW seems to be experiencing a notable rise in cases currently.’

Last week, NSW health data showed that more than 1100 individuals tested positive for the respiratory illness.

This figure is a 15 per cent growth from the cases reported in the prior week.

Highlighting the significant increase over the past month, only 383 instances were noted in the week concluding on 13 August.

The NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, expressed concern, noting a ‘resurgence of respiratory viruses’.

‘We’ve now seen an uptick in flu, RSV, and hMPV is yet another virus,’ she explained to the media on Wednesday.

While there isn't a specific treatment for hMPV yet, Dr Chant strongly advises the public to return to the primary preventive practices established during the pandemic.

‘Stay away from workplaces and crowded places when you’ve got any viral infections and stay home if you can,’ she added.

hMPV symptoms resemble the common cold, characterised by a cough, nasal congestion, shortness of breath, and fever.

In severe cases, hMPV can progress to bronchitis or pneumonia, especially in individuals with weakened immune systems and other vulnerable groups.

However, Dr Coatsworth mentioned that an increase in cases during this season is normal. Still, being cautious and monitoring symptoms is always encouraged.

‘Usually, that happens when you have a change of season, we see some of these non-Covid respiratory viruses when we go from winter through to spring.’

Last week in NSW, there were over 1400 reported cases of the flu and 436 instances of Respiratory Syncytial Virus or (RSV).

RSV is a virus that often leads to respiratory infections, especially in children and the elderly, with symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, and fever.

While the rhinovirus remains the main cause of the common cold in health department tests, hMPV's presence is on the rise, now accounting for 4.6% of the total cases.

Some health tips against the hMPV virus
  • Eat well. Add fresh fruits, veggies, lean meats, and grains to your diet to boost your immune system.
  • Exercise regularly. Aim for roughly two and a half hours of activity each week to maintain a fit body and strong muscles.
  • Relax and unwind. Whether you're listening to music or practising deep breathing exercises, find ways to de-stress and remain calm.
  • Prioritise sleep. If sleeping becomes a challenge, don't hesitate to seek medical assistance.
  • Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water not only keeps you hydrated but also aids your body in warding off illnesses.
Key Takeaways

  • NSW reported over 1000 Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV) cases in a week.
  • Cases jumped 15% from the previous week; a big rise from 383 cases in the week ending 13th August.
  • Dr Chant urges NSW residents to follow pandemic precautions, like avoiding crowds and staying home when unwell.
  • Dr Coatsworth mentions this surge is common from winter to spring.

Thousands of people have died from this so called vaccine. Do some checking yourself (it's all over the internet if you would just bother to look) instead of belittling someone for their opinion.
That's it!

The Internet.

Full of YouTube, Twitter and Tik Tok rubbish where anybody can say anything.

Try checking medical research articles by reputable sources rather than Joe Blow From Bendigo's YouTube feed that claims the Moderna vaccine made him grow an extra ear on his forehead!

Like wise I had 2 Astra Zeneca s and have had a painful arm since ,also last flu injection left me unable to get out of bed next morning and walking around like a drunk with slurred speech , and GP told me just a coincidence, ha not likely that was before covid.
So everything was normal. Just having a joke with ya!

I don't read job blow BS. I've seen genuine articles from lots of doctors, specialist etc regarding this vaccine which by the way was never tested properly before being released to the public. I'm not an idiot.

Why is this website for Seniors quoting Coatsworth?
He announced Covid was NOT airborne. He has lost all believeability by his mistakes.

People are getting sick because of the toxic so-called 'vaccine', which is not a vaccine but an experimental bio-weapon roll-out.
Agree, but no one wants to hear/listen to our views on this!

I personally rarely ever used to get colds, flu, etc (once per 5yrs max), but since bloody (Moderna x 2) vax I've had them more times than i can even count & seem to always have runny nose, etc. My immune system probably been compromised/shot to pieces by the vax!

In fact have had this particularly nasty one for over a week now (have never been so crook) & beginning to wonder if it's this bug mentioned in article!

I’ve not had Covid, the flu, pneumonia or anything. I’ve had all my jabs and not got sick from them either. Obviously the vaccines don’t agree with everyone but no vaccine does. There will be some who will have a bad reaction. It’s not fair to blame the vaccines or the people who develop them

Of course it is a contentious issue. In saying that, I do not know of a single person that died from the symptoms of COVID-19 within my friends or acquaintances. I've had it once and it was like having a very mild cold for 24 hours between shot number two and three. But try the Pfizer shot, which was my third and last. I felt like I had gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson then ran over with a steamroller.

Exactly. Cucumbers don't agree with me but 99.9% of the population can consume them. People's physiological and metabolic makeup is completely random, and in many cases, unpredictable in the body's reaction to a new substance.

My family had Pfizer and 3 out of 4 ended up with covid ,my granddaughter keeps getting sick 🤒, she. Came home from Uni Sunshine Coast and gave it to her family. They only had 2 shots my daughter had 3 and said no more. I guess it’s the luck of the draw. We are all different health wise.

My dose of COVID-19 came between the second Moderna shot and the Pfizer shot.

Like any medication one size doesn’t fit all. Doses vary as people’s age , weight etc Drs should decide the dose not the big drug companies. Hope I explained what I am trying to say?

All people saying vaccines, water etc making people pass - just be glad as the death rate in previous generations was much worse. Just think measles, "consumption" etc. A walk in any early cemetery will be a wake up call of how lucky we are.

Diseases are different now to years ago so we can’t really compare, although improvements are being made on the health front in our enlightened age. So we should be grateful for what we have.

Not true at all, educate yourself ! ..... its thanks to the vaccines that less people get and die of Covid.
'Herd immunity', also known as 'population immunity', is the indirect protection from an infectious disease that happens when a population is immune either through vaccination or immunity developed through previous infection.
