Big W shopper perplexed by typographical error on her $59 item – “It's not cheap, so I am really disappointed”

Do you ever get excited for a bargain or a product you just have to have, only to be sorely disappointed by the end result? Or have you bought a product that ended up being defective?. A frustrated Big W customer has taken to Facebook to share a disappointing detail she spotted on a popular Disney baby product that she bought from the store.
She explained that she had never encountered anything like it before and consulted fellow members of the ‘Big W Mums’ Facebook group to see if it was possible for her to get it replaced.
"Does anyone else's cot comforter have a 'T' instead of an 'I'?" the mum asked, presenting pictures of the Disney Classics Bubba Blue Reversible Cot Comforter that features a conspicuous typographical error. For comparison, she also included a snapshot of the product as advertised on the Big W website.
“T slept through the night” reads the mum’s comforter. It’s embroidered with a handful of classic Disney characters: Dumbo, Simba, Bambi, and Thumper.
"It's not cheap, so I am really disappointed." added the displeased customer. The comforter currently costs $59 as seen on the Big W website. Considering the meticulously detailed embroidery, the cot comforter was proudly advertised to be ‘well presented’ and as a ‘great gift’ idea.
The group members responded to this by joking that it might actually even be easier to switch her child’s name to one that begins with the letter “T” rather than getting it exchanged.
"Would you consider changing your child's name to T? It's probably easier than getting a refund from Big W?” a user teased.
The mom replied to the comment with: “A new birth certificate is cheaper too.”
Unfortunately, there were many others in the same boat as her. Several Big W customers came forward about having the exact same issue with the product in the comments.
"OMG, I was going to ask the same thing! Mine does too!" wrote one person.
"Mine also has a 'T'." another said, alongside a picture of the identical error on the blanket.
A third reassured the discontented mum that she would be able to get a replacement for the product regardless of the typo.
“I got one that is correct and exchanged it with no problem. I had to open three before I found one that was right.” she commented.
Other users empathised with the young mum, calling the blanket “faulty” and a “dud”. Some also urged the shopper to exchange the item.
“You will be able to swap it as long as you have the receipt as that's definitely a manufacturer issue.” one person suggested.
Meanwhile, several members of the Big W Mums group shared their own comical encounters with Big W product fails!
One user shared a photo of a defective Christmas bunting she got previously from Big W that was spelled with an extra “T”.
"This reminds me of a Christmas bunting sign I bought from Big W. It was spelled incorrectly, it was ‘CHRITSTMAS’. Luckily, I just cut the extra 'T' out." they laughed. Seems like Big W products are quite fond of the letter ‘T’, huh?
Big W fans went crazy over the release of the Big W Disney collection back in the first few weeks of February 2022. Mums enthusiastically shared photos of their shopping trolleys filled to the brim with the Big W Disney range.
Well.. that was quite a disaster. What’s your funniest product fail encounter? Share it with us in the comments.
