Baileys has created the most delicious Christmas treats… for adults!

The holiday season is one of the few times of the year when it's socially acceptable to wolf down an entire box of chocolates in one sitting, preferably with a glass of your favourite wine or cocktail (or mocktails for those who don't drink) in hand. No one will judge you.

So in the coming weeks leading up to Christmas, forget all your worries and woes, folks!

To add more fun to the mix, Baileys is here to join the celebrations. Diageo, the maker of the world-renowned alcoholic beverage, is at it again, this time with new dessert treats just for us - the adults.

Here are some of the amazing dessert treats you'll soon be able to find in stores—just make sure you don't tell your visiting grandkids about them!

For the first time, Diageo is bringing Baileys in LIR's Chocolate Truffles (available at Coles for $25) for us to indulge in. These mouth-watering treats are made to perfection and infused with the divine Baileys flavour we love. We bet you'll want to take a bite as soon as you see one of these!

Baileys Chocolate Crackers (available at Myer stores for $25) are also on the roster this year. These chocolate crackers filled with Baileys flavoured cream are perfect for sharing with your loved ones this holiday season.

Finally, Bailey's Il Gran Panettone (available at Woolworths and Coles for $15) is back too! It is a chocolate-coated cake filled with Bailey's flavoured cream. We can't wait to get our hands on this!

We know and understand that these chocolate treats are just too good to keep to ourselves, especially when it comes to the grandkids, so if you're wondering if someone can actually get 'drunk' on the alcohol in chocolates, the short answer is... yes.

There is a catch, though, and that is that you have to eat a whole lot of alcoholic chocolates (and we mean A LOT) to become even remotely intoxicated.

According to Good Food, the average person would have to consume close to two kilograms of alcoholic chocolates before they would feel even slightly tipsy.

Now, we don't think anyone here could eat more than two kilos of chocolate in one sitting… We certainly can't (and also couldn't afford to), and we have no intention of finding out.

So while it’s likely not too dangerous, we advise you give them as little as possible – and if you can help it, just don't give them any alcohol-infused treats at all. They have their entire adulthood ahead of them to indulge (should they choose).
Key Takeaways

  • Baileys is releasing a range of alcoholic-infused desserts this Christmas, including chocolate truffles, chocolate crackers and panettone. These treats are the perfect way to spice up Christmas for the grown-ups!
  • The Baileys range will be available at Coles, Myer and Woolworths stores across Australia.
  • One can get drunk from eating alcohol-infused chocolates, but it’s said to take up to two kilograms to feel any effects.

My Mum had her own "secret" recipe for her version of Baileys, one drink and it would knock your socks off. How it didn't melt the glass in the bottle was always a source of amazement, Unfortunately (or fortunately) she died without passing on her recipe so the world is safe once again!

I remember secret Recipes for Home Made Baileys doing the rounds quite a few years ago, My Mum also had one and we both made it a few times, It could have a kick like a Mule depending on the amount of Whiskey included in the mix, I was very liberal with the amount Mum not so much, Saadly I have also lost my mum who apparently took the recipe with her cos I have not been able to find it again.

2 tins condensed milk
