Back-to-back food recalls spark urgent nationwide warning

Shoppers have been hit with back-to-back food recalls, sparking fresh concerns about everyday meals.

Two popular products were pulled from shelves and online sales after serious safety risks were uncovered.

The alerts served as a stark reminder that even trusted brands are not immune to hidden dangers.

Nourish’d Meal Co’s popular comfort dish has been urgently recalled—leaving many customers wondering if their favourite ready-made meal could pose a hidden risk. A single missing detail on the label has now turned into a health concern for Australians across multiple states. The recall notice warns that a simple dinner could carry serious consequences for some consumers.

The recall affected the Homemade Mac and Cheese with Grilled Chicken & Greens, which contained an undeclared allergen—soy.

The impacted products were sold online in New South Wales, Queensland, ACT, South Australia and Victoria, making the recall widespread across the country.

The specific items included were:

  • Home Cooked Mac ‘n’ Cheese with Grilled Chicken & Greens in 265g, 380g and 495g packs with a best before date of 15 September 2025.

  • Home Cooked Mac ‘n’ Cheese 300g with a best before date of 15 September 2025.
Consumers with a soy allergy or intolerance were warned they could experience a reaction if they ate the product.

Health authorities stressed that customers should not consume the meals, and anyone concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

The company confirmed that affected products can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.

At the same time, a separate recall was issued for a seafood product sold at Woolworths in Western Australia, raising further concern about food safety.

A routine shopping trip to Woolworths has taken an unsettling turn for Western Australians. A popular ready-to-eat item has been urgently recalled after fears it could expose vulnerable people to a serious illness. The warning came suddenly, leaving shoppers concerned about what may already be sitting in their fridges.

Health authorities confirmed that a seafood salad sold at Woolworths stores in Western Australia had been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria posed a general health risk but carried particularly severe consequences for pregnant women, unborn babies, neonates, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

Impacted packs of seafood salad carried the following use by dates: 11 September 2025, 12 September 2025, 13 September 2025 and 14 September 2025.

Food Standards Australia issued a clear warning, stating: ‘Consumers should not eat this product.’

The organisation added: ‘Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.’

Customers who purchased the seafood salad were advised they could return it to their local Woolworths store for a full refund.

Food recalls can be unsettling, especially when they involve everyday items many households rely on.

The recent cases show just how quickly a missed detail or contamination can become a serious health risk.
