azupay scam

I had an item for sale on gumtree and a male said he would like to purchase and he was happy to pay the price I asked. Yesterday this was the biggest scam. Buyer advised he would be paying by azupay and they would contact me to verify his purchase and that the money was to be transferred into my bank by them. After some time doing what I had to I checked my bank and no money arrrived. I advised the buyer and he advised I had not given them the code. I did not know how to get the code on the phone during the message so I did not send it. He asked me to send to him which I did and he in turn gave it to azupay. (Iwent on internet and checked out ths azupay and everything looked above board so I was not a bit worried.) The worry came when my bank sent me message asking me if I had made 2 transactions - 1 of $977.32 and they did not say the amount of the 2nd. I advised them I certainly had not. They did not allow the transactions to go through and after some time and messages from bank found out this was a scam. My bank advised me that an officer from the fraud squad would ring me withing 2 hours (this was now well past 9.00pm) which he did. My card had been locked by the bank and I consider myself very lucky that my bank acted when they did. This is not the 1st time this has happened to me. I will now have no trust in selling or buying online or on the internet as I am a pensioner and cannot afford these things to happen to me. I now have to wait for a new card to arrive and change everything again. My warning to all is thoroughly check out if you are buying or selling on the internet as it can happen to anyone and they ar getting smarter every day. I have learned my lesson once again and this was the last straw. Please be very careful and do not fall into the trap.
