CLAIM YOUR FREE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE KIT! BEWARE !!!
Multiple emails are circulating supposedly from NRMA regarding free Roadside Assistance Kits.
The button (URL) which leads you to claim the kit has been infected with malware which can steal or delete your personal information (photos, credit cards, etc.).
What you should do when you get one of these emails:
1. Do NOT click on any links.
2. If you are able, BLOCK THE SENDER and MARK AS JUNK the email.
2. Delete the email immediately.
3. Notify your friends and warn them.
I haven't been a member of the NRMA for over 40 years and I still get rubbish emails pretending to be them.
Same from NAB, ANZ, Temu, Shein, PayPal, Amazon, Linkt, BCF, Bunnings, JB Hi-Fi, myGov etc. All but the last three, I have ABSOLUTELY had no dealings with whatsoever. The origin of these "emails" are countries far afield as Tuvalu, Indonesia, United Kingdom, India and Germany.
Who would believe an "email" from "myGOv" that originated from Russia that is requesting my income details when I haven't worked since August 2018?
I just received an "email from JB Hi-Fi saying I have won a Bose QuietComfort Earbuds.
The "email' is linked to a soccer organisation based in Tampa, Florida, which itself has links in the "email" to Dephna House Launchese in London which is a shonky personal data collection service!
You will never stop it as most websites will collect your data to sell off to third parties.
