Aussie's heartwarming act at Kmart will restore your faith in humanity!

It's not too far-fetched to think many Aussies have had to give up certain things due to the rising cost of living.

With that, it's safe to say that acts of kindness and generosity can go a very long way nowadays.

That’s exactly what happened to some shoppers at a Kmart who were lucky enough to receive a heartwarming and generous gesture from an anonymous shopper recently.

The Secret Santa decided to cover the entire cost of items in lay-by for all customers at the Victoria Gardens Kmart in inner-city Melbourne.

The donation amount is undisclosed by Kmart, but most of the items were reportedly Christmas gifts.

One anonymous customer told the retail staff they ‘just wanted to do something nice for the community.'

The store was also incredibly thankful to the generous Aussie for donating to a cause such as this.

A Kmart spokeswoman said, ‘We are overwhelmed by our customer's generosity at this time of year, and want to thank them for their act of kindness towards other members of our community.’

‘We are proud to call them one of our customers.'

For others, the anonymous donor’s act is a sign of the Aussie spirit of community still thriving.

‘Just does the heart good when we see that Australians are still prepared to help others in need even though [the donor doesn’t know] who they are,’ said Warren Elliot of The Salvation Army.

‘They’re not family or friends, just random acts of kindness. It’s great.’

This story is a wonderful example of kindness and selflessness in our ever-challenging world. It's a reminder of how far a little compassion and generosity can go for those in need.

Thankfully, they’re not as rare as they seem to be.

In a previous story, a grandmother unexpectedly received a $30 voucher from a thoughtful stranger. On the back of the voucher card was a message saying, ‘Just for today. I'll do something nice for someone and not get caught out or brag about it.’ Read more about the heartwarming story here.

whilst it may be difficult for many Australians to help out with a donation this year because of their own struggles due to our current financial crisis, it is heartwarming to know that those that can donate are doing so in order to help the less fortunate in our society, especially the children who so look forward to Christmas.
Any size donation will be gratefully received by the Organizations who are running appeals for Christmas so please donate to them if you can.

While this was a wonderful gesture it is a shame the person didn’t donate what would have been a substantial amount to charity, would have helped a lot of people who are really struggling.

Years ago on what was termed "BADGE DAY" by the Salvation Army l'd join several other people in the city collecting with a tin. On more than one year l felt a tap on my shoulder & turned to see who was there. As l did so the same young man (each time) dropped a $50 note into the tin. Normally a receipt would be issued but he wanted to remain anonymous l guess. Perhaps he thought someone needed this more than him, l don't know but this was a nice gesture.
