Aussies can't contain their excitement over several ‘new’ Macca's summer menu items

We Aussies sure do love our fast food, don't we? Whether it's a quick burger and fries on the way home from work or a Happy Meal for the grandkids (or us, if we're being honest), McDonald's is always there when we need it most.

Speaking of which, we've got some amazing news to share with all of our fellow fast food fanatics out there: it looks like McDonald's is about to make a few very exciting additions to their menu.

According to multiple reports, McDonald's Australia is set to release a Caramilk Hokey Pokey McFlurry in the coming weeks – and needless to say, people are pretty excited about it.

The news was first teased by Nick Vavitis from Melbourne dessert company choclt on TikTok. He claimed that Macca's is set to rerelease several popular items from previous years including the El Maco, a burger that was last available in 2019.

The fast food giant is also reported to be collaborating with Cadbury to offer a Caramilk Hokey Pokey McFlurry.

Supposedly, these new additions will start to appear on the menu from 30th November and will remain on offer until January 2023 (pending any unforeseen changes or delays).

The announcement has sent many Aussies into a frenzy, with many taking to social media to express their excitement over the upcoming menu items.

One user wrote: 'Ooh now that would be interesting.'

'That would be in my mouth at 12.01am the 30th Nov,' another joked.

A third chimed in: 'This is all I want for my birthday.'

Some customers seem to be not interested in the new additions, with one person writing: 'Unfortunately Caramilk loses its subtle flavour when combined with ice cream, I suspect this might be a fail like the first Caramilk McFlurry.'

Another said: 'Caramilk wasn’t very good last time, unfortunately, hope this is better.'

The social media hype has also captured the attention of McDonald's executives, with Tim Kenward, Marketing Director for Macca's Australia, confirming the news about the menu additions.

He said: 'We love that our customers are so excited about summer at Macca’s!'

'The early rumours are true. We’re bringing back the fan favourite, the El Maco and a deliciously exciting new Cadbury Caramilk Hokey Pokey McFlurry.'

'At Macca’s, we believe great combinations make summer special and we have a few more surprises in store, so stay tuned.'

'We can’t wait to come together for another Aussie summer!'
