There’s no denying that countless Australians have deemed Woolworths’ BBQ chooks a dinner staple… But if dropping by the store to grab a bag of roast chicken has become a wee bit inconvenient (and costly if you factor in the petrol expenses), we’re delighted to announce that the supermarket giant has recently introduced a more convenient option for its customers.
Woolworths revealed that it will now offer a home delivery option for the beloved hot roast chooks in selected areas! Yes, you read that right – shoppers in some states can now have a BBQ chook delivered to their door in under 60 minutes.
Detailing the launch in a TikTok video, Woolworths said that the new service is a part of its new Metro60 delivery option.
Metro60 is available in selected areas of Sydney and Melbourne, allowing customers to order hot food, flowers, and more online to then be delivered almost immediately.

Woolworths shoppers can access the service by downloading the Metro60 app on their phones, which is a different app from Woolworths and Everyday Rewards apps.
Von Ingram, Woolworths Chief Transformation Officer, stated that the new service is ideal for busy, time-poor customers.
‘Metro60 is a game changer for customers who are tight on time and can’t make it to a Woolworths Supermarket or Metro store but need something in a hurry.’ she said.
‘Whether it’s a healthy lunch, dinner solution, or a spread of gourmet cheeses and dips needed for last-minute entertaining, Metro60 makes it easy for customers to top up their groceries and choose from thousands of products and have them promptly delivered.’

‘We’re particularly excited to be offering Hot Roast Chickens for delivery for the first time. They are a well-loved meal solution and one of our most popular products.’
‘Our busy customers are already familiar with the convenience that Woolworths Metro provides when they’re on the go and we see Metro60 as an opportunity to offer a new level of ultra-convenience to help customers save even more time.’
Aside from hot roast chooks, Metro60 allows its customers to shop from the localised range of a Woolworths Metro store in their area.
All Metro60 customers are eligible for a free delivery promotion on their first three orders, then there is a flat $5 delivery charge with a minimum spend of $20.
Metro60 is available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. You may opt to download the app now by clicking here!
