Product Standards Australia (PSA) announced a recall for a metallic food processor with a glass bowl called Brooklyn Rechargeable Mini Food Chopper BMC-300.


It was reported that the food processor—manufactured by AYONZ Pty Ltd—could be operated when not locked into the glass bowl, exposing rotating blades. PSA has warned that there is a risk of serious injury to users, including lacerations.

Unfortunately, this defect has already occurred, and people have already been injured using this product.

The processor was sold on Target nationwide and online from 8 June to 7 August this year.

If you own this food processor, then please stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest Target branch for a full refund.

Shoppers are urged to contact Target’s Customer Support Centre on 1300 753 567 from Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

this is interesting in light of the fact that some time ago I bought a blender from Kmart. I found you can run it with the lid off. Not such a great idea when you are trying to process liquids. Yes you do have to turn the knob but if you load it up and it's turned on once the jug is locked to the base it starts up. Not really a good idea
