Are you an iPhone user? Installing this new feature could save your life!

Are you an Apple device user? If so, then you'll be glad to know the latest iOS 16.1.2 update is here - and it comes with a life-saving feature that you need to install as soon as possible.

The new update is free and comes with a range of features and bug fixes. However, the one feature you really need to pay attention to is the Crash Detection technology.

So, what exactly does this feature do? Crashed Detection has the ability to call emergency services on your behalf if the device believes you've been in an accident.

This is a potentially life-saving feature, so it's definitely something you should install as soon as possible!

Improvements to the feature have been made to help reduce the number of false reports to emergency services. (Previously, the feature was wrongly reporting people as being involved in a car accident when they were actually just on a roller coaster ride.)

'Keeping your software up to date is one of the most important things you can do to maintain your Apple product's security,' Apple said.
Tip
To install the new update, head to your Apple device, select Settings > General > Software Update and follow the instructions.
Unfortunately, not all Apple users will be able to access the latest update - if you're using an older iPhone model, then you'll miss out on the new feature.

Here is a list of all the supported devices:
  • iPhone 14
  • iPhone 14 Pro
Crash Detection is also available on the Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE (2nd generation), and Apple Watch Ultra with the latest version of watchOS.
Key Takeaways

  • Apple has released a new iOS 16.1.2 update with a number of new features and bug fixes, including Crash Detection, which can call emergency services on behalf of users if it believes they are in an accident.
  • Apple is reminding users to install all the latest security updates for iOS 16.1.2 in order to keep their devices secure.
  • The update is available for free, but some users with older iPhone models may not be able to access it.
Members, if you're an Apple user, now would be the perfect time to install the latest iOS update. It's a safety feature we hope we'll never have to use, but if we do, it's nice to know it's there - it could be the one thing that ends up making all the difference.

Do you know someone who could benefit from this update? Share this article with them today and remind them to install the Crash Detection feature - it might just save their life.

Hi Folks. Unfortunately according to Apple Support the only supported phones are:
most of the iPhones in your supported list are not supported. I have an iPhone X and it does not support the crash detection feature.

Maybe update the list in your article? Thanks

With the number of times it gets dropped, I’m thanking heaven that my iPad doesn’t have this feature. My kids are all Apple phone devotees but personally, I have better things to spend my money on rather than an overpriced communication device, whatever bells and whistles it comes with. Perhaps it’s time that features like this were freely available on Android as well as Apple phones!
