Ant species named after Harry Potter villain Lord Voldemort after Pilbara discovery
In the wilds of Western Australia's Pilbara region, scientists have uncovered a mysterious new ant species—and named it after none other than Voldemort, the infamous dark wizard from the Harry Potter series. Dubbed Leptanilla voldemort, the ghostly pale insect earned its name thanks to its eerie, almost translucent appearance and long, slender body—strikingly reminiscent of the sinister figure that inspired it.
