An apple a day

Whilst a great deal older now, I was eating a peeled apple recently. My memory being as good as it is, I recalled when I was around 6 years old, Mum and Dad (both in heaven), would have an apple a day. Nothing strange there, but they used to have a competition between each other for the longest unbroken peel.

This is so heartwarmingly sweet @Carsrme! Surely they're up there, still at it with their little game ☺️

I remember peeling an apple or orange until it broke, so the longest piece of peeled skin. We would then drop it and make out a letter and that would be the first letter of the name of the person we were going to marry.

I must have been going to marry a ton of men going by that.

Great memories 👌 ❤️

Lol @Suzanne rose, you must have been the envy of your friends then  Did the letters formed always 'end up' being your crush's name's first letter? 🤪

We did that too, but it never got mine right, I never got the letter T, but I married him anyway 57 years and still together.

Nope and to be honest they didn't even form a letter we would say whatever it could look like and we would try to make it a boys bane who we had a crush on.

Could you imagine 12 year olds doing this today

Maybe there's a digital version of it with all their tablets and things
It did make the kids look very appealing. 😁
Also a fun memory to make with the grandkids, surely! 🤓
