Amazing Kmart clearance sale: Discover how this mum saved nearly $300!

There's nothing quite like the thrill of nabbing a fantastic bargain.

Here at the Seniors Discount Club, we love to share good deals, top tips, and heart-warming stories about seniors and the community, so when we heard about this Aussie mum's impressive Kmart haul, we knew we had to share it with you all.

Holly, a mum from Hobart, embarked on a shopping trip to her local Kmart to purchase new towels for her household.

Little did she know that she was in for a surprise when she stumbled upon a massive clearance sale, which ended up helping her save a jaw-dropping $300!

During her shopping adventure, Holly found several must-have items for a total astonishingly low price of $71.50, which would have usually totalled a whopping $366. So, how did she get such great discounts, you ask?

Holly shared her successful bargain hunt on social media, revealing her impressive finds. Among these treasures were two cross-back chairs, each priced at $6, down from their original price of $79 per chair.

She also snagged several small storage containers at only $2.50 each and a ceramic pink fruit bowl for just $3, down from its original price of $9.

Not only did Holly discover some terrific deals for her home, but she also found some fantastic toys for her young son. She picked up a Paw Patrol 'All Paws' gift set containing ten figurines of everyone's favourite animated pups for only $15, marked down from $45.

Holly also found a Transformers action figure that was reduced to $3.50 from its initial price of $32.

Although these toys were discounted due to minor issues such as a missing figurine or damaged packaging, it's important to remember that these little imperfections don't always affect the toy's quality or the fun your grandchildren will have playing with them. Plus, think of all the money you'd be saving!

In the end, Holly fulfilled her initial goal by replacing her old towels, and she even found a stylish new white, arched bedside table for herself and her husband, making significant savings of $29.

Other online community members were quick to congratulate Holly on her stellar finds, with one comment reading, 'Such a bargain! You did so well.'

Another shopper said, 'It's not about what you spend, it's about what you save!' which is a brilliant motto for everyone at the Seniors Discount Club. A third commenter aptly said, 'Oh my, you're winning.'

She was in the right place at the right time but did she really need / want these items or did she purchase just because they were clearance items.
I wouldn't have purchased any of these.

Sometimes we waste money just because an item is on sale and I used to be one of these, now I stop and think , do I really need it or is it going to be put away in the cupboard and forgotten. Usually I walk away without it.

The clearance items I will always get are the plants at bunnings

'Must Have', Really? Clearly this piece of drivels author has a very very different interpretation of what constitutes 'Must Have' to me and I'm sure the bulk of those that take the time to read this.

I think the “must have” is purely a personal choice. I’m sure my “must haves” are entirely different from yours and other member’s “must haves”. The term relates to the poster of the story not every individual who happens to read it.

I was about to say something similar. It is only a bargain if you actually needed it and would have bought it even without a sale price. This sounds more like she went in for one thing (a need) and came out with thigs she didn't (but saw and wanted).

My thoughts have already been echoed by other members regarding need. Some of those items were damaged in some manner, scratched or dented. What if parts were missing from an item rending them unusable?

My mind then went back to the articles about people who bought up on cheap meat, buying up every pack. Was this for their need or greed? They are normally very close to the expiry date, can be frozen (all of it) if there is enough room in the freezer or give some away.

Why bother in either case?

It always amuses me when people get all excited over the money they "saved" after purchasing mountains of goods that they do not need and were often paid for with an almost maxed out credit card.
