Willunga is at its best and busiest during the global Tour Down Under bicycle race in January, as well as in the wintertime when the almond trees blossom into spectacular colours and the annual Willunga Almond Blossom Festival is held.

Willunga has an awesome bakery and a great pub if you're looking for an actual meal.

The name Willunga is reputed to come from the Aboriginal name wiljaungga – “a place of green trees”. This idea was first mentioned in 1908 by Cockburn and then again in 1915 by Alfred Day when researching the names of railway stations in SA.

Ayers Rock, Northern Territory, is famous for being a massive sandstone monolith with immense cultural and spiritual significance to the Aboriginal Anangu people, who believe ancestral beings created it.
