ALDI's popular stir fry mix recalled due to 'illness' fears - here's what you need to know

Here at the SDC, we like to stay on top of any important news that could potentially impact the health and well-being of our members.

That's why we're issuing an urgent alert to our members - ALDI has just issued a recall for a popular meal ingredient sold across its supermarkets.

The product in question is Fresh Salad Co’s Fresh and Fast Stir Fry Mix 450g with a use-by date of December 24th. It was retailed across all ALDI stores in Victoria.

According to the recall notice from Food Standards Australia, it’s been recalled due to potential contamination with unsafe plant material.

The agency has made it very clear that 'products containing unsafe plant material may cause illness if consumed'.

For this reason, consumers have been informed that they 'should not eat this product and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.'

It's recommended that those who are concerned about their health visit the doctor in case there's a need to take precautionary measures.

Customers can also get additional information by calling the food recall hotline at 1800 709 993.

The recall came after a batch of baby spinach from Riviera Farms was removed from the market after it was discovered that nine people had contracted food poisoning from it as a result of 'weed contamination'.
