Aldi's new Special Buy is the PERFECT way to stay warm this winter!

The season of winter has arrived in all of its glory.

There is just nothing like curling up on the couch with a warm cuppa in one hand and your favourite bikkie in the other, binge-watching everything that is on television to get you through a long cold weeknight.

Now all that's left is to be wrapped in the soft and warm embrace of a snuggly blanket and the evening is complete. But how are you going to manage that while still having both of your hands free?

Here come hooded blankets to the rescue!

If you are not yet familiar with this fashion trend, a hooded blanket is a cross between a large hooded sweatshirt and a blanket.

It's made of an oh-so-soft fleecey fabric (like being hugged by the clouds!), and some models even have a large pouch for stashing your phone, the TV remote, or several family-size bags of chips.

In recent years, the sales of hooded blankets from brands such as Oodie, Snuggies, Comfys, and many others, have skyrocketed due to their increasing popularity.

And we totally get the hype – especially now that the weather has turned cooler and more people are spending the majority of their time indoors.

And, you have to admit, they're a great way to help save money on heating costs, aren't they?

Just in time for this winter (well, maybe a few weeks late - but we’re not complaining), Aldi is releasing its own version of the hooded blankets – made and designed to be 'strikingly similar' to popular brands but without the hefty price tag.

Aldi's snuggle hoodie, which will go on sale on July 9 as a part of their Special Buys, is available in a variety of colours and designs, including pink, charcoal, and ones with cats or dogs.

These items can be purchased for $29.99, which is a significant discount in comparison to the retail price of more popular brands, which can reach as high as $109 for certain models.

Aldi has also produced a version geared towards children that retails for $10 less than the adult version. It is available in many adorable patterns, including ones with puppies and panda bears.

At $30, we have to admit that the price for an Aldi's snuggle hoodie is still pretty steep for many of us.

This coming weekend, if you find that you have a little extra time on your hands, why don't you give making your very own hooded blanket a shot? See the video below to find out how!

My son bought me an Oodie as a present, today I'm going to break it out and give it a whirl. I don't care if it looks silly, warmth is everything.:)
