Aldi shopper’s unusual furry friend makes the rounds on social media — “only in Australia!”
Aussie supermarkets have become famous for unusual sightings — from a sighting of a woman walking the aisles on stilts to a shopper finding a Frozen toy in a meat freezer.
Adding to the list is one customer who brought an unlikely furry friend along with him while grocery shopping. Any guesses as to what it might be?
TikTok user @cherrymaeferrer took to the social media platform to share a video of the bizarre shopping companion of a male Aldi customer.

In the footage, the man can be seen walking past an Aldi store with a koala in his trolley.
The marsupial was spotted sitting in the main part of an Aldi cart as the unidentified man pushed it around.
At the end of the clip, the native Aussie animal can be seen scuttling along a nature strip.
"Only in Australia!" says Cherry. We have to agree there, nothing more Aussie than spotting a Koala doing their shopping aye?

While the koala sighting brought humour to Cherry's grocery shopping experience, Aldi insisted that koalas are not welcome in its stores.
An Aldi spokesperson said: "While we always appreciate another customer, our stores are not the appropriate habitat for native wildlife.”
“We’d encourage anyone who sees wildlife where they shouldn’t be to contact WIRES.”
It should be noted that the koala population in Australia has been dwindling due to deforestation and climate change, which is the sad truth behind this otherwise charming video. The habitat this little fella typically belongs in is disappearing
