ALDI shopper’s shocking act of rebellion over price hikes stirs controversy

If there’s anything that we all have in common, it’s the hatred for the spiralling economy. Seeing the price of basic necessities shoot up and worrying about their affordability can make anyone’s blood boil. But one disgruntled grocer took his anger to another level and the brazen act left several arguing about whether or not lines were crossed.
An Adelaide grocer has made ALDI the butt of the joke (quite literally) in his latest act of rebellion against major supermarkets.
Johnny Kapiris, who owns St Bernards Fruit and Veg Market in Rostrevor, has been deeming supermarket giants greedy for increasing their prices in the middle of an economical crisis.
In a photo that he shared on his business's Facebook page, Mr Kapiris flaunted his ‘assets’ in front of an ALDI store to slam the supermarket.
The grocer can be seen bending over in his underwear, with his jeans dropped down to his knees, to make a bold statement against the German-owned retailer.

‘This Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at Kapirisland. Broccoli retails for $1.99 per kilogram, while strawberries cost $3.99 a punnet,’ he captioned the shocking Facebook post.
Before adding: ‘Match that you imported f**ks. I am your master.’
He also warned do-gooders to refrain from commenting on the post, as they will be ‘blocked and deleted’.
Mr Kapiris' cheeky stunt (no pun intended) made the rounds online, with thousands of Aussies flocking to the comments section and hailing it as ‘gold’.
‘Mate, you are a serious legend. I wish you were here in NSW! It would be an honour to buy from you. Keep up your great work!’ one shopper praised.
‘Love your work, Johnny. I saw grapes for $17 per kilogram at Coles last week. I may be better off going to Kapirisland.’ said another.
‘Must be cold out there, we thank you for your sacrifice.’ added a third.
While a third wrote that he was a ‘national brand in the making’, encouraging him to expand his grocery empire.
However, not everyone was in favour of Mr Kapiris’ act. Many came to the discount supermarket’s defence and pointed out that Coles and Woolworths’ prices were much higher than ALDI’s.

‘Why are you only picking on ALDI? Have you seen the prices at Coles and Woolies?’ a shopper hissed.
Fresh broccoli is currently available for $8.90 per kilo at Coles and $3.14 per head at Woolworths. On the other hand, strawberry punnets are currently retailing for $4.80 at Coles and $3.50 at Woolies.
Another man explained that all of ALDI’s fresh produce is locally produced, unlike the other supermarket giants.
‘Australia currently exports more than it imports and fresh vegetables sold by ALDI are ALL locally produced. Just saying... But your attacks on ALDI are really funny.’ he commented.
This isn't the first time Mr Kapiris has stirred controversy for attacking major supermarkets.

, well he’s a mature, intelligent person then….NOT!!! I would boycott his store on that act of childish behaviour alone…I’m sure Aldi is ‘shaking in their boots’…what a loser!!
