ALDI retains Supermarket of the Year title for fourth year in a row

Supermarkets are more than just a place for shoppers to get their goods; they are also a battleground for customer loyalty.

This year, one name has risen above the rest as the go-to supermarket of Aussies nationwide.

German supermarket chain ALDI was crowned champion in the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards.

The Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards result from meticulous research and analysis, with over 60,000 customers surveyed across retail, finance, telecommunications and various industries.

To qualify for the awards, brands must have a sample size of at least 100 customers, ensuring the results are robust and reflect true consumer sentiment.

The survey reached out to over 33,000 shoppers who shared their experiences with some of the biggest names in the business—Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, Foodland, and IGA.

The participants rated their satisfaction with these retailers on a scale ranging from 'very satisfied' to 'not at all satisfied', providing their 'honest, unvarnished' opinions.

ALDI's triumph is not a one-time thing; this is the fourth consecutive year the supermarket has secured the top spot.

ALDI Australia's Group Director Simon Padovani-Ginies takes pride in the achievement.

'We have never been more aware of the need to continue to deliver on our promise to offer Aussies the highest quality products at the lowest possible prices,' he said.

Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine emphasised the importance of genuine customer feedback in determining their winners.

'Each month, we calculate monthly customer satisfaction winners in each of the categories as the year unfolds, and the annual award goes to the company with the most monthly wins,' she shared.

ALDI aside, Roy Morgan awarded several major establishments this year, with Commonwealth Bank dubbed the Best Major Bank.

RAA was named Major General Insurer of the Year, and Myer was voted the Department Store of the Year.

Aussie Broadband also claimed the Internet Service Provider of the Year.

ALDI's victory reflects a broader trend in consumer behaviour, where value for money is increasingly becoming a deciding factor in where shoppers spend their hard-earned dollars.

With the rising cost of living, Australians are more conscious than ever of getting the best bang for their buck, and ALDI's business model resonates with this sentiment.

For shoppers always looking for quality and value, ALDI's recognition is a reminder that shopping smart doesn't mean compromising on quality.

Sounds like you don't need to buy at ALDI because you have a lot of $'s. And nothing wrong with the quality at Aldi. Heaps better than the other supermarkets.
ALDI isn’t convenient for me. Also, I don’t have “a lot of $’s”, but I shop smart for my needs. My (deceased) husband and I worked hard for the money I live on. You can think what you like, but reserve your judgment for something you know about. You know nothing about me.

read my reply below. you are exactly who i am referring to. the word is snob.
YOU can read my reply (above) to Petra. I’m no snob and you don’t know me nor my circumstances. Thankfully, I don’t know you because your words are something a self righteous snob would write. I pity people like you.

We continue to buy the least we can from Coles and Woolworths. Aldi and Napoli for beautiful fresh fruit and veg and other gourmet delights are our main sources. IGA for bits and pieces but we have made a huge swing away from the big 2
Good on you..... keep it that way. Haven't shopped at the big 2 for ver 20 years now.....

Isn’t Aldi 💯 per cent owned by a German baroness and she gets all the profits.🤔I read it somewhere.
Close but, NQR. You may need to do your own research on the owners of Aldi.
The family name is Albrecht. Two x brothers the original start up.

It's good that Aldi are around.
Their quality and prices are often just as good if not better than the other 2 x major supermarkets.
In the big picture Australia has very small population over a vast area. So, it is no wonder that very few suppliers are in the market.
A population of 26 million is not a big draw card for good competition. Its a number game for big suppliers.

I could say a lot again but am speechless as to how aldi is on top of the pile.
I find if a woolies/coles product is 5 dollars a kilo, aldi is 4.99 just to say they
are cheaper and remember most people are living on credit and if you pay
with a credit card aldi charge a SURCHARGE which adds to your bottom line
Thanks RW
