Aldi reintroduces the cult-favourite $159 ‘mattress in a box’ that’ll save you HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS compared to expensive versions

What better way to sleep peacefully than knowing you didn’t spend thousands of your hard-earned money on a mattress – and it’s just as comfortable as the expensive ones too! Aldi is bringing back an item that shoppers hailed as “cheaper and comfortable” in comparison to rival brands and we are thrilled!

The last time Aldi sold its ‘mattress in a box’, they were a big hit to customers and the same is expected to happen again when it lands on the store’s shelves as a part of its Special Buys on April 9. The range starts from $159 for the size of a single bed up to $299 for a king, which is a very cheap alternative to other big-name brands that typically retail mattresses for nearly $1,000.

“We’ve bought several over the years, quality for cost is fantastic. Have owned expensive mattresses but these are just as good if not better,” one shopper recently wrote on their Instagram post.

The Aldi mattress (by Estelle) features premium pocket spring technology, a layer of memory foam for enhanced support, and a polyester jacquard quilted fabric – all the characteristics you’ll ever need for a good night's sleep.

It comes in a cardboard box, hence the name ‘mattress in a box’, that is easy to unfold.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “While we enjoy surprising customers with unexpected new products, we definitely take our customers’ feedback into consideration when it comes to bringing back Special Buys which have been extremely popular, like the Mattress In A Box,”

The last time this highly sought-after range was in stores was back in August 2021 and because of massive demand, Aldi is encouraging interested customers to make a trip to their middle aisle on April 9 “as we know that Aussies love this must-have bedroom item”.

Many shoppers declared the mattresses as the ‘most comfortable’ ones they have ever purchased.

“We bought one for our toddler last year and it’s been amazing, so comfy and he sleeps so well on it. Hubby and I always fall asleep on it when we lay with him.” one pleased mum shared online.

“I bought a single for my son and it is the best mattress in the house for a lot less money than the others. Looking to get another one now.” another chimed in.

It comes after the budget retailer revealed its Bedroom Refresh and Dreamy Threads Special Buys range, which will be available starting April 6 and 9.

Among the pieces included in the range are a matching wooden side table ($49.99) and a bookshelf ($149). The mid-century bedside table features two drawers and solid pinewood legs, ideal if you’re looking to add a little spice to your bedroom decor.

Aldi also boasts antimicrobial protectors selling from $29.99 for a single sized bed up to $49.99 for a king.

And if you’re unsure what to do with a spare room or a smaller bedroom, Aldi’s sofa bed for $299 may be the missing piece you need. It comes with a simple click-clack mechanism that transforms a sofa into a sofa bed like magic! So essentially, you’re hitting two birds with one stone.
