Aldi recalls Reese’s Dipped Pretzels due to an undeclared allergen
- Replies 2
Packets of the cult-favourite American snack, Reese’s Dipped Pretzels, have been pulled off Aldi’s supermarket shelves after they went on sale without clearly stating that they contained a life-threatening allergen – peanuts.
Customers with a peanut allergy could be at risk for anaphylaxis, which is a food-induced reaction that’s considered a medical emergency due to its serious set of symptoms upon consuming the allergen such as swelling of the throat, constriction of airways, and a severe drop in blood pressure.
The 120g packets were sold at Aldi in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory, South Australia, and Western Australia. The recalled bags have a best before date of February 2023.

“Consumers who have a peanut allergy or intolerance should not consume this product. Return the product to the place of purchase instead for a full refund,” Food Standards Australia warned.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
