ALDI Love Story: Couple’s romantic engagement photos shot inside the supermarket
- Replies 2
It’s safe to say that most of us here at the Seniors Discount Club love shopping at Aldi. For many years now, it has been championed by Aussies who are looking to buy groceries on a budget. Considering food prices are among the highest in the world in Australia, Aldi is a great place to shop if you're looking to save on food expenses.
Not to mention, they have over 500 branches all over the country, so going to one is pretty convenient! What’s not to love?
And it’s not just in Australia, one couple in the US agrees with us – they love Aldi too!
In fact, they love Aldi so much that they decided to take their wedding engagement photos inside the local grocery.

Newly engaged couple Dan Kuntz and Shannon Niere surprised their family and friends when they decided they wanted their engagement photos taken inside their local ALDI supermarket.
You might be thinking that the local grocery store is probably special because the two of them met there – but no. The couple actually first met at the gym.
Dan recalled Shannon smiling at him because she thought his shirt was from a kickball league she was in. “ It wasn't, but it gave me the courage to approach her,” he said.
This was in 2017, and the two have been together ever since. They recently got engaged under a lakeside gazebo and their wedding is planned for later this month.
So, where does Aldi come in in their love story?

Turns out, Shannon was a big fan of the supermarket even before the two of them met. Now, she has converted her fiance into a loyal customer as well.
The couple says they go to the store every Sunday, and their week wouldn’t be complete without it.
When they were asked what they love the most about the store, they said the main thing would have to be the incredibly affordable prices. “When comparing a full cart of groceries to other stores, there is a considerable difference in cost,” said Dan.
He also added that he loves the store’s customer service as well. “I don't know how much coffee they give those employees, but they are always so fast when scanning and ringing up the items,” he jokes.
“Big shout out to the employees — but all of it adds up to a great customer experience every time.”

The couple’s engagement photos happened after a friend of Shannon contacted the company, telling them that the supermarket holds a special place in the couple’s hearts.
Once they got the approval, they hired St. Louis-based photographer Victoria Segovia to take a bunch of romantic photos inside the supermarket.
One image shows them canoodling in the produce aisle while another shows the two smooching amidst snack aisle treats.
In addition to their romantic photoshoot, the couple was also gifted a basket filled with Aldi-exclusive products and freebies, such as items from the seasonally rotating product aisle and inexpensive wines found in the store's beer and wine aisle.
How sweet! We hope this romantic story brought a smile to your faces, members!
