ALDI launches a pizza-making robot, allowing customers to get their hands on hot, delicious pizza while shopping!

ALDI's latest in-store feature has captivated shoppers!

Can you guess what it is? (Hint: It's in the title)

A pizza-making robot has made its way to the retailer's store in North Sydney Corner after it partnered with Bondi start-up Placer Robotics.

Pizzabot is ALDI's first-ever pizza vending machine to be designed and manufactured in the country.

The machine can prepare premium restaurant-grade, wood-fired pizza in just two minutes, allowing customers to enjoy a delicious hot treat while doing their groceries.

So, how does the robot work?

Pizzabot inventor Matt Lipski said that the machine has built-in storage for storing partially-cooked, handmade pizza bases and local toppings.

The robot also features a self-operating oven that cooks the pizza ordered by a customer and a glass window allowing them to witness the cooking process.

Mr Lipski claimed that the machine can prepare about 17 pizzas in one hour, meaning customers don't need to queue to get their hands on the meal.

“To ensure we’re bringing restaurant-quality gourmet pizzas to the Aldi Corner Store customers, we use the freshest, highest quality ingredients – including buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, gourmet salami and 48-hour rise dough,” he said.

“Our custom oven, which reaches temperatures as high as a wood-fired oven with digital precision, guarantees the perfect crispness, taste and look of each slice, every time.”

ALDI North Sydney Corner Store director Huw Longman said: “We understand our shoppers are motivated by quality, value and supporting local, and we are extremely excited by our collaboration with Pizzabot, a true Aussie innovation, to deliver great quality pizza and a unique experience, at the lowest price point.”

The $8.99 pizza prepared by Pizzabot will be available for a limited time, as part of the trial deal.

While the concept of a pizza-making robot in ALDI stores seems to be exciting, no word has been given regarding the launching of Pizzabot at other stores.

What are your thoughts on this pizza-making robot? Do you think ALDI should make it available in more stores across the country?

Society has changed so much.....we are now a culture which eats on the run.
Gone are the days the whole family ate a home-cooked meal sitting together at the table.
In my days, one of the school rules was not being allowed to eat on the street ie, outside the school grounds, in your school uniform.
I'd forgotten about that rule!! ;)

Well, after reading the article, i was amazed!!

So, a machine making a pizza??

But, the dough bases are ready made, partially cooked.
It says, "The machine can prepare premium restaurant-grade, wood-fired pizza in just two minutes", yet its cooked using high heat electric elements!!
Only two choices!!
This is not a big pizza, call it a pizza slice!!, and, at $8.99 per slice, ??

So, its a NO, from me!!
