ALDI’s new budget smartwatch could improve your sleep quality

There’s nothing quite like scoring a great bargain and getting a full night’s sleep. If that sounds like music to your ears, we’re pleased to announce that ALDI’s latest release may help you achieve both!

As a part of the German retailer’s Bedroom Refresh Special Buys, the new $50 smartwatch has been officially released on Wednesday, August 3, along with other bedroom staples such as silk pillowcases, calming mist, tea, and books to help you sleep better.

The smartwatch, which retails for $49.99, is available in the colours baby blue and black. It boasts the following features:
  • Multi-sports tracking
  • Music playback control
  • Bluetooth wireless technology, and message and call notifications
  • Sleep-related functions
  • Heart rate monitoring
  • Blood pressure monitoring

The watch is designed to monitor and track your sleep, including deep and light sleep cycle recording. This gives you a breakdown of your sleep quality each night, which you can then use to adjust your nightly routine for better shut-eye.

However, tracking your sleep cycle isn’t the only health-related feature that the watch has. It also monitors your heart rate and blood pressure! In addition, the watch can send you helpful reminders to move around throughout the day if you’re a little guilty of being physically inactive (don’t worry, we are too).

But you better be quick as stocks are limited and vary between stores!

The launch followed after new findings from Australian researchers discovered that fitness trackers, pedometers, and smartwatches motivated people to be more active, aiding in weight loss.

Researchers from the University of South Australia studied 164,000 people across the world who used wearable activity trackers (WATs) to monitor their physical activity.

The results confirmed that WATs pushed them to walk up to 40 minutes more each day (equivalent to 1800 or more steps), which led to an average of a 1kilogram weight loss over five months.

Giving in to the smartwatch frenzy doesn’t sound too bad now, does it? If you haven’t got one yet, then we’ll be racing you to ALDI!

Have you ever used a wearable activity tracker (or a smartwatch)? If so, share with us how it has helped you stay healthy in the comments below!

I would buy one and wear it if I was confident I could program it and set it up. A lot of these new fangled gizmos would be fine if they gave easy to understand instructions or indeed any instructions at all. Unfortunately I don't have access to a teenager as they seem to know this stuff instinctively.

I think anyone under 40 is programmed to know how to operate modern technological equipment.
They don't need instructions, they don't even need to see the item....they can work it out over the phone. It must be in their blood.
My very first mobile phone in 2019 didn't even come with instructions.
My son was interstate, but talked me through what I needed to know, bit by bit, ever so patiently.....
The main thing he said was to just try things, play with buttons and try to work it out and understand cause and effect....you press something, so this happens!
He gave me merit for common sense which I don't have!

Ha. Reminds me of the time I had a problem with Foxtel unit. After spending a lot of time on the phone with a Tech who got pretty much exasperated with me because I obviously was not understanding his instructions he said, with a deep sigh….Is there a young person there I could talk to. Ever felt like a Cave Man!
