Good beer doesn’t always have to come with a gobsmacking price tag. If you’re on the hunt for an affordable beer that can effortlessly compete against higher-end brands in terms of taste and quality, then look no further.

Supermarket giant Aldi recently announced that its beer products secured a total of nine awards at the Australian International Beer Awards for 2022.

The Australian International Beer Awards is known as the largest international beer competition in the world as it judges draught and packaged brews from over 21 countries.

"The World Beer Awards select the very best of internationally recognised styles – awarding and promoting the world’s best beers to consumers and trade across the globe,” Aldi detailed.

There are 35 awards to be won at the competition, and in brilliant news for your wallets, the budget supermarket ALDI won several of them.

The winning beers were split across ALDI’s ‘everyday range’ and ‘special buys’ collection. If you want to get in on the details, here’s a list of the ones under the everyday range that bagged an award:

• Fraser Briggs 24pk – Gold Medal (Class 1A – Australian Style Lager) – currently on super saver nationally for the price of $29.99.
• Rivet Gold 12pk – Gold Medal (Class 14B – Reduced / Low Alcohol Lager) – retailing for $12.99 (NSW and WA) and $11.99 (VIC).
• Storm Super Dry 24pk – Silver Medal (Class 1A – Australian Style Lager) – $35.99 nationally.

• Rivet Lager 24pk – Bronze Medal (Class 1A – Australian Style Lager) – costing $28.99 (NSW and WA) and $26.99 (VIC)
• Leo Lager 12pk – Bronze Medal (Class 3A – American Style Lager) – $20.99 nationally.

Meanwhile, here are the award-winning ‘special buys’ brews that are available for a limited time only:

• Roaring Days Sez You Session Pale Ale 12pk – Bronze Medal (14B – Reduced / Low Alcohol Lager) – $18.99, available in-store now while stocks last.
