AIBU, which stands for 'Am I Being Unreasonable', is the perfect platform for sharing your thoughts and opinions! So, for today's AIBU discussion, we have this story from Reddit/Sensitive-Cloud-1489:

Am I being unreasonable for telling my vegan sister to serve me meat?

'My vegan sister bought a house that needs a lot of work. I agreed to help if she provided food and materials.

I’m anemic and fainted a lot as a kid. Most of my meals have meat or are high in protein. The vegan meals my sister serves leave me hungry and lightheaded. The work is tough, and working from morning to late afternoon makes me feel awful by the end of the day.

I brought my own food one day, and it was fine. So, I asked her to make heavier, protein-rich meals, but it hasn't been working.

Yesterday, I fainted and told her I needed meals with meat or I couldn't continue the remodelling. She thinks I’m a huge jerk, but I’m standing firm. I won’t bring my own food since I’m already doing her a huge favour.'

We're eager to hear your perspectives, members! Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I am not vegan, but I know quite a few of them. The ones I know, do know how to eat a balanced diet. They are not iron deficient anymore than omnivores are. If you eat the right food and do not have an illness/disease, there is no reason to be iron deficient. I repeat, there are plenty of plant sources of iron, you can eat a balanced vegan diet and not be iron deficient. You can eat an omnivore diet and be iron deficient. It is all about knowing how to eat a balanced diet. (Notice, I don't need to use caps lock to get my message across, I am not that immature!)
You're a vegetarian, so you would eat dairy but no meat. Or the modern term being an Ovo-Vegetarian which only eats eggs and no dairy or meat. I also know a few vegans and they eat a balanced diet, but they also take a B12 supplement. It is harder if people don't like tofu, tempeh and quinoa. Plus, plant based 'meat' products can often be highly processed.
It certainly is a personal choice.

I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I dislike highly processed plant-based meat products. I prefer to use tempeh or legumes—the less processed the better.
