To avoid the bar
 
The first two injured themselves on the bar and he ducked so that he wouldn't.
 
To avoid the iron bar the other two ran into.
 
So he doesn’t hit his head!
 
The bar was head height across their path.
 
He didn't want to hit his head
 
The third man didn’t want to get hurt.
 
Either he was too tall, OR he saw the others walk into a bar and ducked under it.
 
The third man is very tall and didn't want to.bump his head
 
It was a iron bar and the third man duck it
