After 22 years, ALDI makes a game-changing upgrade! See how it affects your shopping experience!

It’s the store many know and love because of its range of quality products at great prices.

But ALDI is taking that customer experience a step further with the introduction of a new initiative in support of a great cause—a special service to help you pack your groceries!

Participating in Camp Quality Month, from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, they will be offering an in-store packing service at their Brookvale store in Sydney—the first initiative of its kind for ALDI’s 22 years of operations!

Customers can avail of this service for a $2 donation to Camp Quality, an Australian children’s cancer charity.

Camp Quality CEO Deborah Thomas said ALDI’s continuous support for Camp Quality during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month truly adds to their work.

'Camp Quality Month at ALDI is pivotal in driving awareness of the impact a cancer diagnosis has on Australian families.'

'It also raises much-needed funds so that children facing the trauma of cancer can do so with specialist cancer care, a supportive community, opportunities for respite and fun experiences, as well as age-appropriate education programs.'

'Thanks to the generous support of ALDI, 5,662 kids facing cancer have had the opportunity to attend recreational programs that help to reconnect the family, build resilience and optimism, and create positive memories that change their cancer story,' Ms Thomas added.

Moreover, the face of the initiative is Australia’s very own Matty J, who was named ALDI’s first-ever Chief Packing Officer and will be present at the Brookvale store during the event.

ALDI Managing Director of New South Wales, Alex Foster, said he is sure that the media personality is more than up for the job.

'We’re excited to welcome Matty J as our first-ever Chief Packing Officer in store on September 16,' Foster said.

'We know our customers are expert bag packers themselves, so we’ve been busy putting Matty J through his paces to ensure he respects the golden rules of packing—heavy stuff down the bottom, lighter items on top, and make sure the bread doesn’t get squashed!'

'We firmly believe he’s ready to rise to the challenge and hope Aussies can support Camp Quality with us once again as they come out to see Matty J's packing skills be put to the test,' Foster added.

Matty J expressed his excitement for the role and hopes to contribute in any way he can.

'What an honour to be chosen as ALDI Australia's first ever Chief Packing Officer – I've always wanted a chief officer title!' Matty J said.

'I like to think I have a certain skill when it comes to packing groceries, but I've been brushing up on my speed, agility, and technique, and am looking forward to packing as many bags as I can for this great cause.'

'As a father to two girls, the work Camp Quality does to bring positivity and laughter back into the lives of kids facing cancer is really heart-warming. By taking part in this event, I’m happy to support Camp Quality and help raise even more funds for them,' Matty J added.

Customers who take up the offer will be redirected to a VIPacking lounge where they will be served an award-winning Lazzio coffee!

For those who cannot attend the in-store event at ALDI’s Brookvale store, you can still support ALDI’s initiative through this link.

I must admit this is the first time I have seen Aldis involvement in camp quality I could see another way they could be involved It would not suit some people but I am sure most customers would use it, why not have a collection tin at each check out I am sure people could spare a dollar or two to a good cause, Just a thought.

It would be great to see Aldi follow through with this initiative at all their stores around Australia even if only for one day. Get some of the footy codes, Matilda’s, basketball and other codes to allow one player to take on this donation initiative. Would raise a lot of $1 & $2 coins for this organisation and other stores could take on something similar for other charities.

Are they just catching up with the UK?

Every now again the UK supermarkets have scouts in their stores doing packing for people and they have a bucket with them which people put in donations.

That’s so good to read that ALDI is helping Camp Quality as it’s a Very Worthwhile Cause. The children need good fun activities during their Cancer Treatments as it helps them cope with all those Tests & Treatments needed to treat Cancer. A happier child will be able to handle all those horrid tests & treatments that are necessary for them to overcome such a Horrid Disease. Happier kids equate to Healthier kids so please Donate as much as you can to Camp Quality remembering ALDI will match it Dollar $ for Dollar $.

If they offered a shopping and delivery service I would definitely support it. I rarely shop at Aldi because of my mobility issues and their shortage of disabled parking.
