Adult Dental Stick Samples $3.95 @ Bell & Bone*

Teeth cleans are expensive enough for us humans, let alone when the vet says our pets are due for one too. Ouch!

The best way to avoid this is regular maintenance. But if your pup is anything like my girl Evie (the SDC's Head of Puplick Relations), brushing with a toothbrush can be a real hassle.

That's where Bell & Bone* come in! And their dental stick samples* are perfect for fussy eaters!

'Bell & Bone's Dental Sticks* are the perfect daily chew for your dog. They contain active ingredients that support oral care and help remove tartar from teeth. There are no nasties inside, with only healthy ingredients. They can be fed daily for optimal results, and with their unique shape, they are great for getting teeth stuck into.'

Even better, Bell & Bone are Aussie-made and owned*!

Now, you know I love to try things out myself (or, in this case, Evie does). I can confirm she loved the chew and is always eager for it as her post-walk, pre-bed nighttime snack!

Shop here*.

l don't think our German Shepherd has any teeth that need cleaning there cleaned with all the things she chews .No matter what we put down for her to lay on she chews up.All her blankets a lovely bed just everything she can see to chew she will.l would have thought she would have grown out of it by now as she is 14 months old.Has anyone any suggestions on what bedding she can't ?

Oh, that's tricky! My girl's teeth were okay when she was younger as 'long life' chews took her longer to eat but now she just woofs them down without having a proper gnaw. I just looked up chew-proof dog beds and this one looks to have a bunch of great reviews, though it's pretty $$

Thanks April l will look it up.l just wish she would stop. She chewed the lead to our generator and old washer and when my son takes her out in the car she chews what parts of the car she can when he goes into the shop. Perhaps l should take her to a doggy dentist and get her teeth out lol

Ouch, seems like she has expensive taste in chew 'toys'. I know crate training is super popular, it could be worth looking into. Evie grew out of chewing wooden furniture but I had also started putting anti-chew mixture onto things like chair legs. Though it's not like you can coat your entire house (if only)!

She's a Japanese Spitz, so she's much smaller than your pup

Crate training is a safe space for your dog to retreat to when they need quiet but also somewhere for them to be calm when you're out of the house or in bed. Here's some information from the RSPCA on it :) https://rspcavic.org/learn/crate-training-your-dog/

German Shepherds are very clever and strong willed. They need lots of stimuli both physically and mentally. I now have mt fifth and she'll be five in November. While she doesn't chew or dig any more, she is very excitable and carries on a treat when she thinks I'm going out. There are balls that you can buy balls that you put little treats in, which keeps them busy mentally trying to retrieve them. I give her bones that I get from Woolworths that are called beef soup bones. Look for a packet with a largest bones that you can find so it takes her a while to finish it. I don't buy chew treats and this keeps her teeth sparkling enough that the vet commented on them. You need to run them rather than take them in the car, a walk usually doesn't wear them out enough. All mine have stayed puppies till the very end, might be the owner?Keep her occupied and try to train her in obedience, not to stop her from chewing but it gives them mental stimulation. I think you'll find above all that it's attention seeking for more contact.

Ebony goes for walks on the beach nearby besides her trips to the shops and she howls if left behind. When she sees other dogs and children on the beach she is scared like when she first arrived here .We got her from a breeder in Melbourne and flown over so we didn't get to check her out and wonder if she had been abused!.She is happy now, full of life, rounds up our three sheep and chases the rooster -payback when rooster pecked her nose when she first came here-Can't leave her in the house alone she chews everything so has the foyer. She eats soup bones our joint bones dog biscuits and raw chicken bones won't touch tinned food. l will try her with the balls filled with treats. Thanks for your advise.

Be careful of bones that have sharp edges, my dog broke a large tooth in half on one of these soup bones.
