In sharp contrast to some of our past product reviews, ranging from cookies to Twisties, the SDC team decided to try WelleCo’s Super Elixir*. Here’s what we thought:

Ash: It smells better in liquid form (like pineapple lollies) than in powder form. No scoop included which I don’t like, you have to use your own teaspoon. April says it’s more environmentally friendly but it’s also a little inconvenient. I was hesitant and a little suspicious of it just from past negative experiences with similar products but it’s drinkable and I could easily make it a part of my morning routine.

April: Some clumps and lumps even after a good stir with a teaspoon. It's not the most appealing-looking drink, but no green drink ever is, so that’s justified. I can’t say I’d sit down and leisurely drink this over breakfast, but gulping it down quickly before or after brekky? Easy. It’s a very thin consistency, which is a lot nicer than the alternatives I’ve tried, which seem to froth up. If you can drink Berocca, you’ll be fine.

Ash: I use the Yuka app to check groceries before I purchase them, as I’m very conscious of ingredients and additives. There’s actually nothing on this ingredient list that concerns me and with how much good stuff is in it, surely you can’t help but be healthier for drinking it.

I wouldn't buy a box of matches off this spoilt brat!

Look further into this snake oil saleswoman. "Endorsed and formulated" by a "Doctor" Simone Laubscher, this product is no better than desiccated lawn clippings in water.

Laubscher has promoted herself on her website as having an MSc and a PhD from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). In reality though, she has neither qualification from UNSW.

I strongly suggest that SDC remove this content from its website.

Yes, I saw that programme. That 'Dr' is certainly a charlatan.

@DLHM drinks some green herbal concoction every morning that I call "The Green Slime". It looks like something you would find floating on the top of a stagnant pond but it smells alright. Its taste....wouldn't have a clue and I'm not about to find out!
