Ah, Vegemite. It’s really up there, along with koalas and ‘roos, when you think of classic Aussie cultural icons.

This image, according to the State Library of Victoria, was taken in 1947 and was shared again to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the spread hitting market shelves.

So, how do you like your Vegemite, members? Was it a favourite of yours growing up? Tell us below!

If you have similar photographs and memories, feel free to post here on our Nostalgia/Yesterday’s Australia forum.

I like it left in the jar or on other peoples toast…just not a fan at all.
Now, crunchy peanut butter is a whole different story!!

It was a favourite growing up and is still a favourite - I have it most days on toast at breakfast. I also like adding it when making stews and soups.

Wow! I love how it's either a 'Yes I love it it's honestly the best thing ever' or a 'No I despise it with every fibre of my being' even with people I know :ROFLMAO:
