“So helpful!”, Melbourne mum shares gift-wrapping technique for awkwardly shaped items

A mum-of-two from Melbourne has revealed her technique for perfectly wrapping awkwardly-shaped Christmas gifts.

Chantel Mila shared the video on TikTok, showing how she wrapped a football into a candy-like present like a pro.

“Impossible gift-wrap challenge: How to wrap an awkwardly shaped gift into a bonbon,” she wrote in the caption.

First, she wrapped the paper around the ball, completely covering it, to form a tube. She used sticky tape to close and secure the piece in place.

Then, she removed the ball inside and folded the paper into quarters.

Then she folded both ends of the paper inwards. With scissors, she cut all four corners.

Once she unfolded the paper, she placed the football gift inside and tied the sides with a ribbon to create the bonbon.

Chantel Mila’s video gained over 550,000 views after just a few days, with many saying her gift-wrapping technique is a total game-changer.

“That is so helpful. Definitely a game-changer,” wrote one user, while another added: “I would never think of wrapping round gifts like this!”

One user even joked: “Holy moly! Everyone is getting a football from me this year just so I can use this hack.”

The finished product looks so good! We bet people who receive a gift wrapped in such a creative way will feel super special, and it’s a terrific reminder that gift-giving is not only about the gift itself but the thought and effort behind it, too.

Some great ideas so I must get some double sided tape, but it all comes down to "it is the thought that counts".
