“I absolutely love this!”: This new Bunnings machine can give your weekend snags on the barbie a high tech twist
Are you planning to throw a few snags on the barbie with your loved ones this weekend? You might want to check out this new addition to Bunnings’ famous sausage sizzles.
Chef Robbie Bell took to TikTok to share his latest find at his local Bunnings.
The Melbourne-based head charcutier posted a clip of a sauce dispensing machine, which he spotted outside a Bunnings store in Hawthorne.

The machine, also known as a ‘SauceBot’, evenly dispenses sauce along the sausage sandwich in a zigzag pattern. The dispenser makes use of a pulley system to hold the bread and the snag and features two hoses — one for tomato sauce and another for mustard — that squirt the sauces.
It also features two buttons — a red button for tomato sauce and a yellow button for mustard — which allows people to pick which sauce they want to douse their sausage in.
Although some people call the invention 'lazy' and 'pointless', others sang praises to this genius hack.
One man wrote: “Covid safe, disability-friendly self-saucing machine. Hell yeah, very nice."
“I absolutely love this,” another added.
SauceBot was invented by a team at Connected Community Hackspace and has been in use on Melbourne streets since 2019.
However, due to the multiple lockdowns in the city in the past 18 months, the machine hasn't had much exposure to the general public.

However, the hardware giant said that they were expecting the comeback of sausage sizzles in all of their stores in the next few weeks.
