‘I am never on a diet’: Hollywood icon reveals her surprising approach to staying youthful

Aging gracefully while maintaining a vibrant lifestyle is something many aspire to, but few seem to master effortlessly.

When it comes to looking and feeling youthful, some swear by strict diets or rigorous routines—yet others take a more balanced approach.

One Hollywood icon has shared her surprisingly simple yet effective health and wellness secrets, proving that staying fit and confident doesn’t have to mean deprivation.

At 74, Live and Let Die star Jane Seymour continued to captivate audiences with her age-defying looks and balanced approach to health.

She shared that her youthful appearance had nothing to do with strict dieting but rather a commitment to making smart food choices.

‘People ask me if I have a cheat day with my diet, and I respond that I am never on a diet, I just make good choices and stick with them,’ she shared.

Seymour believed that diets often led to failure, as restrictions made it easy to lose motivation.

‘If you think you are on a diet, you will lose track, you will cheat,’ she explained.

‘But if you find healthy foods you really love, that make you feel good, you never feel shorted.’

The Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman actress revealed that she ate one large meal a day at 1:30 p.m., preferring to savour her food rather than snack mindlessly.

She shared: ‘I start the day with coffee and hard-boiled eggs for protein, and it isn’t till later, around lunchtime, that I have a full meal, because then I can really enjoy it.’

She favoured a Mediterranean-style diet, which she praised for both its health benefits and rich flavours.

‘It works so well, and it tastes good. It includes a lot of delicious food like tomatoes, olives and fish,’ she said.

Seymour also grew her own vegetables and often snacked on cucumbers and celery with hummus throughout the day.

‘I do love nuts,’ she added.

‘I am a savoury person, I like the salt.’

For exercise, she incorporated light weightlifting and Pilates into her daily routine.

‘You have to keep moving!’ she said.

She distanced herself from weight-loss drugs, including Ozempic, instead relying on an antioxidant elixir to support her skin.

Seymour’s health philosophy drew attention after she stunned at New York Fashion Week, turning heads in a striking red mini dress and sky-high heels.

She shared behind-the-scenes moments of her runway experience, admiring her fellow models.

‘This is going to be fun,’ she said in a video posted on social media.

‘I am substantially older and shorter than all the models here, but happy to be here.’

She opened the show in a floral one-shoulder mini dress, paired with beige, pointed-toe pumps.

Although not a professional model, Seymour had always embraced confidence, never shying away from the spotlight.

After posing for Playboy in 1973 and 1987, she became the magazine’s oldest model at 67 in 2018.

‘I feel much sexier now than I ever did when I was younger,’ she told Playboy at the time.

‘Then, I was like, “Oh gosh, I’m supposed to be sexy. What is that?!”’
