‘Game-changer’: The Kmart item turning offices into cosy havens

Staying warm during winter can be a daily battle—especially when your office feels more like a walk-in freezer.

One shopper has uncovered a budget-friendly solution that’s taken the chill out of her workday routine.

What started as a simple purchase has since sparked widespread interest online.

No matter the time of year, Britt Bevan said she always found herself freezing—whether at home or in the office.

To help with the constant chill, she said she had been relying on a small hot water bottle during autumn and winter.

But recently, she discovered two new winter must-haves that quickly became game-changers in her daily routine.

In a video shared to social media, Britt revealed she picked up a $12 desktop heater and a $42 heated throw from Kmart.

She shared that ‘Kmart has really come through’ with the affordable winter essentials.

She said she was ‘super impressed with the desk heater’, noting that ‘it’s surprisingly powerful for its size and not too loud (about the same volume as your laptop fan when it’s working overtime)’.

The compact heater became her go-to item for keeping her hands warm while typing at work.

‘It’s perfect on cold mornings,’ she said.

She added that the heater was so effective, a few of her colleagues ended up buying one for themselves after seeing it in action.

The heated throw, she explained, made long workdays much more comfortable.

‘I drape it over my office chair so it feels like I’m sitting in a heated seat – game-changer,’ she said.

Britt described the throw as ‘thick, soft, and just the right kind of snug’, and said both items felt well-made.

‘They don’t look cheap’ and she’d recommend them ‘to anyone’.

She was especially pleased with the heater, calling it ‘hands down the best $12 I’ve ever spent’.

‘The blanket is a bit more expensive, but the quality’s there, I don’t regret it at all,’ she said.

She admitted that ‘the throw could get a little hotter’, but added that it was ‘already pretty warm and cozy as is’.

‘If you work in a cold office or from home, these are a no brainer,’ Britt said.

‘I didn’t realise how much I needed them until I had them!’

Some viewers on social media commented that they thought the heater was a bit noisy.

Britt responded, saying she ‘hardly even noticed it’ when it was on.

One user commented: ‘I have an electric throw at work too, makes it easier to concentrate being warm.’

Another said: ‘OMG it looks like an old school computer speaker, so cute.’

‘The sign I needed to pick one up for the office!’ another person wrote.

‘It’s either too hot or too cold in there, I already have a blanket, but this would be a game changer.’
